I go to church now and its nowhere near like being a JW. Its not exhausing. Its just something you do to lift your spirits on Sunday and maybe Wednesday. Its actually refreshing to go to church. And the amazing part: I look forword to it!
has anyone here got to the stage where they just dont care about the wts anymore?
whether they exist or disband, whether its about doctrine and dogma, attitudes, flip-flops, what they think of you, scandles etc.
would this be the end goal of recovering from the jws?
I have come to a point where I really don't care any more. Its terrible that my whole family is still in but I can't change them since they won't even talk to me. I just try to live a respectable life to show them that I left because I didn't agree with their doctrine, not because I wanted to lead a sinful life. I have found that as the days go on, I care less and less about my past and concentrate on making my future great with or without a family. I'll have to create my own.
which of the different study books (for conversion to become a jw) do you feel was the best?

Live Forever book. It actually taught you about stuff. The new ones are too elementary.

i wrote out my disassociation letter.
i am sending many in the congregation copies of my letters exposing the fine "elders".
Congrats!! You will have a much more fulfilling, happy life now that you have left. I wish you all the blessings in the world on your search for the real truth and your own personal relationship with God.

i went back to my flat earlier this afternoon to pick some things up, i am moving out of there slowly, and was carrying a heavy box out to my car when i stumbled and dropped it on my foot.
it wasn't too painful, thankfully, but i came out with a stream of expletives, most of them beginning with f. when i was a jw, even thinking those words would have filled me with shame.
Yes it has changed.
I added the words grace, church, Lord, rapture, bless (you), deacon, preacher.
I removed the words organization, field service, meeting attendence, ministerial servant, the truth, worldly people, cultivate interest, pioneering, secular education, theocratic goals. And I say Jehovah a lot less and Father a lot more.
I cursed a lot more as a JW. I think it was the rebellion thing. Now I only curse when I am frustrated on rare occasions. I do things knowing I want to please my loving Father. Not that I think cursing is necessarily wrong but I just don't feel the need to curse. It doesn't feel rebellious but it also doesn't seem like it serves any purpose. Because I am no longer a JW, I don't think that it only matters if the elders hear it nor to I think of God as some Master over slaves.

but.... these were shepherding calls to build you up spiritually so therefore no serving of coffee or cookies were allowed.. was this true with your congregation's shepherding visits?.
I got shepherding calls all the time!! You guys are lucky. They didn't like me because of my out of the box thinking anyway though. I hated them and put them off as long as possible.
About the food at the calls: I didn't want them there let alone be kind enough to offer them food. Heck no!!
if jws "suffer" persecution it will make them feel as if they are fulfilling bible prophecy.
they like thinking and believing that they are chosen to be abused and persecuted.
if any political upheavals occur, they look at it as a sign to say that the end is near.
