    How do I..........

i've only been on this board and one other board for a short time and i quickly learned enough to show me that jw is not the one and trur religion.

most of you know my situation, married with 2 kids and another due in a month.

how do i get out of this organization?

Before I give my advice -- I want you to know that I speak from experience. I was the only one in my family to leave. I was a 5th generation JW and lost 36 family members and even more friends. I decided to DA and leave it all behind and think it was the best thing I have ever done.

Perhaps you could give real Christianity a shot. It would answer a lot of your questions. Having a relationship with God will get you further than anything. I learned how to let Christ take my yoke and what freedom in Christ really means. I know God can really be a caring Father when mine was taken away by the deceit of Saten and his false prophets.

After I found out how to have a real personal relationship with the real God of the Bible, I had strength do do anything. I have not looked back and think it was the best decision I ever made. I have a new church now and even divorced my abusive husband and found a new one. Building a new life -- completely leaving the lies behind is my advice. I realize that with your wife and kids that is probably not completely possible but you can live a life of honesty to them and all who are around you. It will make you spiritually stronger and your kids will know the truth. I always say, "I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not."

Now I pray and hope that God helps the rest of my family out of that mess and yours as well.

    two witness rule

what exactly is the two witness rule regarding the witnesses stance on child abuse?..am i right in thinking that this means that unless there are two witnesses to the child abuse, witnesses are forbidden to go to the police..surely this cannot be so twisted.

No .. you can go to the police no matter what.

They will not go to the police for you no matter what though. Many times when there are known cases of child abuse or molestation, they never suggest or go to the police with the problem. They take matters in their own hands.

They will just not DF someone unless there is two witnesses.

this has nothing to do with whether i love my wife.

i always will.. pragmatically, i have come to the devastating conclusion that i don't want to be married to a jw.

any jw.. she asked me last night, "so, do you believe in santa clause, now?

I can tell you that about a year and a half ago I was just like your wife. I did that to my husband. I was disappointed in him. The whole situation was too much so I left him. Only after I left him and the elders told me that I would have to be single for the rest of my life did I decide to leave the JWs. It was only then that my mind was opened and I was able to embrase Christianity. I thank God every day for showing me the real truth.

Your wife is disappointed in you and she does not feel proud of who she is because she is embarassed of you. I would talk to her but not expect her to understand. I would recommend being the most Christian, loving, considerate man you can be. Unfortunately, I doubt you will ever have a fulfilling relationship with her.

This is mom. Your dad is out mowing the grass. I'll tell him you called. He will be delighted to hear from you.

    Signed,

    Mom

P.S. Wouldn't that be nice to hear?!! I know that soon I'll know how you feel. I hope there is a day when he realizes that I am not a pawn of Saten. It has been one year now since I talked to my dad.

so said my brother to my mother the other day while she was in the hospital.

he asked her why i wasn't coming back to the "truth".

she suggested that i wanted to enjoy a worldly life of fun.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name

I keep wondering why they worry about Jehovah so much. Jesus never even said the name Jehovah!

So.. I'm convinced as well that they have made up a god. Thank goodness I left!

i don't often open up discussions on my beliefs or experiences in life, but i feel a need, so please excuse me if you feel it untoward.

neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.

everything was so new and unknown.

This really blessed me tonight! The love of Christ certainly fills that emptiness you never realized what was until its full of love from above. I am so happy for you. Its truely wonderful. This reminds me of how I felt when I first accepted Jesus into my heart. I couldn't describe it better than 1 Cor 2:1 "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling." I came to a point where I dropped all I ever was taught as a JW and realized that all I was sure about was "Christ and him crucified" May God bless you in the days to come!! Renee

"Many religions like the Catholics and the Baptist claim to teach the facts about the bible" Actually, Baptist do not have any kind of organization telling them what to believe. They have unified essentials that every member must agree with like who Jesus is and what he did for us. But they do not believe that they have any authority to set rules for you or interpret stuff like who this or that symbolizes. They believe in the Bible as the only authority. The problem you have with most religions is that they take the place of God. Find a church that believes in the Bible and believes that your relationship with Jehovah comes directly from him and not through the church or organization. There are a lot of good ones out there. You just have to be careful not to get into a church where they think they have some special insight into the Bible. Renee
