  OK, Easter Bunnies - What you doing to celebrate the Pagan Festival of Sex?

  Why did they not try to 'Save' me?

  i have pondered this question on many occasions.

  when i began to have 'doubts' and began to 'question' some doctrine, and particularly the lack of christian love, very little effort was made to 'snatch me out of the fire' as elders are admonished to do.

  i have always wondered why we as jw's would spend countless hours trying to start bible studies with 'wordly' people, while at the same time ignoring those who are moving away from dead center of the organization.

  I'll tell you what really really hurt me.
  I was doubting but I so badly wanted it to be true (to keep my family). I talked to several elders and family members about my doubts.

  I was discussing my doubts about their theology and my uncle said, "These are really elementary things we are talking about here. If you can't understand these things, it sounds to me like you need to have a Bible study again." Now I have an IQ in the top 10%. I gratuated at the top of my class. I'm not saying that I'm the smartest person who has ever walked the earth but I am saying that I am a LOT smarter than him!!

  Then I talked to an elder who I have always considered to be the smartest one. I asked him questions and he said, "Its like this. Either you believe what the society says or you do not. If you do not, you are an apostate and will be distroyed at armageddon." Oh yeah, that really helped....

  Need help with PC, damn thing is pain in the ass, please help

  well, i decided to install a dvd writer in place of my old basic cd player.

  piece of cake usually, but not on this computer.

  all i did was take the old one out and put the new one in with exactly the same settings.

  i do not really hate pets but i am allergic to them.

  I smoke and have a housecat. . . And I also clean all of the time.

  What I do hate is latex, feathers, and scented soap << the things I am allergic to.

  los angeles - an air force veteran filed a federal claim after undergoing an operation at a veterans administration hospital in which a healthy testicle was removed instead of a potentially cancerous one.

  benjamin houghton, 47, was to have had his left testicle removed on june 14 at the west los angeles va medical center because there was a chance it could harbor cancer cells.

  I don't know if a man can have sex without his testicles. I looked up "castration" once (don't ask) and the definition was the removal of the testicles.

  To castrate a woman means to take out her ovaries. If a woman does not have her ovaries, it does not mean that she can't have sex.

  Castration can mean removal of all the genitals or it can mean to remove the ability to reproduce.

  I am glad to hear from you! Someone brought an old post out and I saw your name and for a minute (until I saw the date) I was excited to see you post again -- Now I really can be excited to see you post again! I am so happy for the good things: weight loss/health/volunteer work/daughter's acceptance into the school -- And I hate that you had the wreck ... But over all it seems that you have a great outlook on it all. I hope to hear an update again when you have the time. your sister in Christ, Renee

  Have you let go of waiting for Armageddon?

  although, after experiencing many disappointments and failed dates, i cannot let go and i cannot dismiss the expectation that god will intervene somehow.

  i still hold on, hoping that maybe i will not experience sheol and neither will some of my loved ones.

  I never worried about it when I was in -- and I expressed my feelings about it even as a loyal dub. My parents gasped each time. .. But here goes:

  I figure that our "end" could come tomorrow. Even if we expect armageddon to come in 2349, we should still be living like each day could be our last because we could in fact die. So when Armageddon comes is really irrelevant.

  Now some believe that we will be raptured before the big "A" ... I don't know that to be the fact. I know God will protect his children from the wrath of that day but God has saved people from his wrath before and they ended up wandering around in the desert for decades. I believe I'd rather not live to see that day. I so know that when i die, the next thing I'll know is a life eternally in heaven ("paradise").

  I am an only child like you. My mother will only talk to me via e-mail like yours too. (My dad won't talk to me at all though)

  My mother will randomly send hurtful e-mails that would have me depressed and in tears for sometimes up to a week. My mom would phase in and out -- sending emails and then just quit for a while. I had a really hard time with it all. I started going to a counselor. That helped SO much. Then evenually (a year later) I came to a peace with it all. I decided that I was trying harder than God to get her out and I had to stop. I just don't think my mom wants to know the truth because she would loose everything I did and its not worth it to her to have that freedom. There are no magic words to make you heal. I never thought I would. I thought I would carry this pain around with me for the rest of my life. Somehow I did heal though and things are good. I know it will happen for you too.

  New Corporate Smoking Policy - Need some suggestions.

  i work for a fairly large corporation.

  our company is establishing a new tobacco policy where smokers and tobacco users are no longer allowed to use tobacco in any form, either cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew, or snuff, anywhere on company property.

  this includes inside or outside the building, the parking lot, or even in your own personal vehicle while in the parking lot.

  I worked at a place that did not allow smoking within sight of the building. We had to drive to the park and smoke there. The only way I can tell you that they enforced it was by setting a rule and you got evaluated for a raise based on your following the rules. Eveyone wanted to try so hard to get a raise that they tried to behave as much as possible.
