i got this message from a forum member.. i think you may be confusing the wts' understanding of the "sheep" of matthew chapter 25 (who have not yet been separated from the "goats") and the "other sheep" of john chapter 10. the two groups are not (i.e.

There are 3 comings of Jesus. One in the first century, one in 1914, and a future one. Add that into the equation.
The truth is that none of their theology makes sense. You aren't supposed to think about it so much...... Just believe the facts they tell you and don't try to put them into logical order.... lol

for me it was a combination of things over a long period of time.
being raised as a witness, you do things by rote.
but when you see sooooooooo many watchtower inconsistencies, mistreatment of the "brothers", elder abuse, and simple lack of love, it begins to make you start seriously thinking.
I married as a teen and lots of things that happened after that was enough to make me walk away. The way I was treated by the elders when I left him, just some of the things I was told the guilt tripping I was put through by them to get back with him no matter what had happened. We were both too young- he in his 20's, me a teenager, so I don't hold any of what all happened against him. We were too young to be married and we were all wrong for each other. By the way not all teen marriages are based on sex. I married too young to get out of my parents house- a poor choice looking back but at the time it looked like a plan.
That is exactly my story and reason for leaving. After my mind was free enough to question, the dominoes fell.
for those who don't know i've been 'inactive' for around one year.
i stopped attending meetings late last year.
all during this time i was working on my wife (known on this board as amber rose), helping her see the problems with the watchtower.
Not to burst your bubble but here's my prediction. He's going to think about how the good outweighs the bad and he'll tll the iother elders all the things you said bad about the Organization and The Truth. Even though he agrees with many of your thoughts, LOYALTY to Jehovah (the Organization) is what it's all about. Expect a judicial committee invitation.
I agree. I bet you will get a judicial committee invitation soon as well.
But on the positive side, you may really have shook up this guy. Even if he goes back to the JW mindset soon, it really shows that this guy is interested in knowing the truth and has a mind he uses to actually think and not just memorize JW replies. Even if immediately you end up with it backfiring, in time he may come to your door and thank you.
why do loyal jws take sight-seeing vacations?
if they will live forever on a paradise earth, why do they spend time seeing the wonders of the world and the beauty of it all while on a vacation from their secular employment?
they will have the rest of eternity to seek out the wonders of this world, will they not?
As a JW i always wanted to see things that were manmade like Washington D.C. but I wasn't as concerned with seeing beaches and mountains. Now that I'm not a JW -- I want to see nature. I enjoy the earth because I don't know that I'll get to enjoy it again.
this is my first post and im nervous but i've read many so far.
my situation is this im going to be 21 in june and i'm in love with my boyfriend but he not a witness and i am( i have been my entire life) my parent found out and forbid me to see him and even told me to leave, i did leave for a day, but they called me back.
but they still hate that i have any contact with him...and we still want to get married.
About the 144000 -- Ever think they might be a number to represent the Jews and the great crowd the gentiles? And have you read Rev 19:1 that says the great crowd is in heaven? Just food for thought. Also notice that all the scriptures used to talk about the paradise are usually in the old testiment and would have been referring to the promised land to the Jews at the time. Most Christians belive that after the 1,000 years is over, new Jerusalem will descend to earth and people will enjoy both the heavens and the earth for eternity.
great big thanks to all who participated in my mother's 80th birthday.... it was great, and she was trhilled..... she had a smile on her face the whole day long.... so many showed up to celebrate, and those that couldn't shared by phone calls, cards, flowers and gifts.
the memory album i put together for her turned out great, so thanks to so many who sent me a page to put in, it's a memory she'll have forever.... all her children and grandchildren were there, except for the ones in montreal who are still jw's.. .

i always had to pioneer and it sucked... in mississippi it was 100 degrees and very very humid.
it was like a greenhouse.
we would get all dressed up and just pour sweat.
I don't think I had it necessarily that bad. Mine were just filled wasting time in the door to door work rather than something productive. I think a lot of kids who were not JWs had not so wonderful summers. I think that for all the work I did, it could have at least been something that "built character". (And no... I'm definatly not talking about doing what zanex did!!!) There's just something about JWs that suck all the joy out of life.

I remember when I wasn't in service, my parents had me in the garden. I had to hoe, pick vegetables, help with canning, cut corn off of the cob, pick peas/butter beans, and spread out manure. I would help take stuff off after they cut the shrubs and weeded things. I remember working for hours on end for $2 an hour for my grandparents. Fun fun. No wonder I always felt like I was 10 years older than I actually am.
