I would really like to post something meaningful here, but I've got KnowYou on ignore, so I have NO IDEA why you all worship him/her/it/them. hehe
My bad!

my dear know_you: .
having been moved by your recent posts, i find myself terrified by my precarious position as one associated with scurrilous apostate scum.
i have supped at the table of demons, cavorted with the devious likes of farkle, alanf, seven006, ginnytosken, and others of their ilk.

my digital camera will be back from the hospital by this weekend - i was wondering if i might be able to get pics of the local wt grunts as they set off to harrass the likes of the stonewalling unclebruce.
my question: do car groups always meet at the kh before leaving, or are there other meeting places?
is it up to individual car groups where they meet?
Steph...congrats on being so motivated to gather together with others of like faith!
As I recall, over the last 10 years, the official WTS directive is that all book studies should have their local Meeting for Field Service. But, in the last cong I attended, the elders over-ruled and decided to keep everybody coming to the KH (idea being: larger group=more encouragement).

Valis: It was a HOT AIR balloon, you dummy! Speaking of which, you could have substituted for one of the burners (I know you love me...hehe)
Simon: You Brits must have a lot of time on your hands, coming up with all those odd expressions like "soppy sod." LOL
Seriously back to you...thanks from my heart for having this forum...it has helped Katie and me heal in ways we never imagined were possible.
She and I would almost certainly never have met if not for JWD.
And again, EVERYBODY:
THANK YOU
Craig (of the ever so thankful class)
i don't normally put a lot of stock in dreams having great importance.
it's extremely rare that i have nightmares and also not uncommon for me to go days or weeks without dreaming at all, at least that i'm aware of when i wake up the next morning.. what does it mean to have recurring dreams in which i'm back at home living with my parents and in the dubs?
last night i had a particularly disturbing one in which i was back home with my family in the home we lived in way back before i was 12 and in the dream for some reason that never came up i was going to be killed and they didn't care.
Last night I dreamed I was talking with President Clinton, and I couldn't get the words out.
Figure out THAT! LOL

the bible says that god's word can be trusted: "every word of god is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
(proverbs 30:5) but, the verses below suggests the opposite is true:.
"so now the lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours.
Of course He does...and of course He doesn't.
It is impossible to comprehend or apprehend interactions with an infinite being. If God (as "typically" defined) exists, then His actions are fully knowable only to Himself. Anything less than that (on our part, as finite beings), will be interpreted either as 1) our own feeble faculties of comprehension [read He doesn't deceive us] or 2) He can/is/will be whatever He wants [read He can/has/does deceive us].
Either case is unprovable, by any measure of human logic or analysis.
My thought.

i just thought i would post a thread and let everyone know what my own personal beliefs are.. you can post any comments you want to.. also, you can post your own personal beliefs if you would like to.. here are my beliefs (based on what i have read in the bible):.
i believe in god almighty, my creator (the father, jesus christ, and the holy spirit -- all 3 are separate persons in unity as one god -- all 3 are co-equal, co-eternal, co-omnipotent, co-omniscient).. i believe that jesus christ, the eternal son of god, came to earth and was born as a human (while keeping his full deity), gave christians 3 laws to follow (love god, love your neighbor, and treat others how you want to be treated), died for the world's sins, in order that everyone who believes in jesus christ may be saved and receive eternal life with the jesus, and jesus was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven to be with the father.. all of this is by the grace, love, mercy, and justice of god.. that is the gospel of salvation.. i believe that everyone who truly believes in the true jesus christ of the bible, will be saved, and will be taken to heaven when they die to be with the lord jesus christ for eternity.. i believe that when they die, everyone who rejects jesus christ will end up spending eternity separated from jesus christ in hell (whether hell is a fiery place of torment or not, i'm not sure, but i know i don't want to be there no matter what it is).. i believe that jesus christ is the only judge of a person's heart and mind.
humans should not condemn one another, in regards to where they are going to go (heaven or hell).. jesus christ will judge everyone who never got to hear the gospel.. i believe that all children who died before they were old enough to know what is right or wrong, will be saved.. i believe that jesus christ is coming again, whether in our life time or not, i do not know.. i believe that everyone on earth should follow these 3 commandments of christ:.
I appreciate your honesty and openness.
At least in this respect I agree with you totally (to paraphrase):
Love is the measure of everything that matters.
Craig
i've heard a ton of "bad counsel" given by elders such as "you should or shouldn't marry this person", "give up that job", "you should pioneer"........were you given any "bad counsel"?
In retrospect...virtually ALL of the advice I got was pure, simple, unadulterated crap.
In my 40 years in, there were 2 elders, and 2 CO's, who really shared their thoughts with me openly and honestly, and they are all still dear to my heart. I would gladly be friends with them, and maybe someday that will happen. Maybe not.
The rest just spouted WTS garbage.

Well, here we go!
Katie and I went to Newberg, Oregon for our balloon trip. Sunday morning, 7:00 a.m., cool, crisp, totally clear.

The balloon was first inflated laying on the ground, using a high volume air fan. When it was about 1/2 full, they started the propane burners and lifted it to full volume.
Katie and Craig, ready for lift off!
There were 4 balloons...ours was named Magic. The other three were groups of 4-6 people each.
Just after lift-off...you can see the airport just off to the right.
Katie, while still unengaged
Approaching ground zero proposal point! Coming up on a curve in the Willamette River.
Craig checking to see if he's getting cold feet...NOPE!
KATIE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pilot radios the other balloons and makes the announcement....Craig blushes all over the place, but proud that he didn't drop the ring overboard.
Approaching landing point, or so we think. Magic kept getting caught in mild winds that kept the pilot busy! Each balloon had it's own ground "chase" team. When the pilot finally found a likely landing spot, the ground team rushed over to the house and asked permission to land.
Safely back on ground, our hearts still in the sky!
Off to champagne breakfast.
So, then...meet Katie and Craig, newly engaged and now exposed to the WHOLE BOARD! LOL

how many years of secular education are advisable for children in christian households?
today, there are many teenage baptized servants of jehovah... how far should they go with a secular education?
Naw...say it ain't so!!!
And all these years I thought I passed up a free ride at a national top 10 college because it was MY choice.
What a pathetic joke.
