The song book
by KW13 in.
lol, i was thinking...how long before folks get sick of the same songs time and time again...will they ever get a new book?.
i reckon some nwa instrumentals wouldn't go a-miss

other thing is...i bet no one realises what they are singing.
For example song number 8 says "loyal submission in recognition...this to our God we owe" - note LOYAL and SUBMISSION then the society put them out as doing what God wants.
Hey JW's...your following the society!!

Slanting and twisting what scriptures say to suit themselves.....
by Gill inthis is a quote from may 1st 2006 watchtower, as it appears in the watchtower.
''christ's loyal 'other sheep' keenly await their king's approving declaration:.. 'come, you who have been blessed by my father, inherit the (earthly paradise realm of the ) kingdom prepared for you from the founding of the world.
is that really what christ said and wouldn't other christians consider this a nonsense to quote a scripture and in the scriture include your own interpretation of what it means, so that that it appears that is what the scripture says?

I should call the police on "SickofLies" JC committee
by kwintestal inanyone who listened to sol's recordings, would have heard at the end of the first recording of the second appeal meeting (the one that he showed up with a bearded jw named "sean") sol mentioning a second recording device that remained in a brief case recording the elders as they discussed sol's case without him present.
perhaps you are wondering what happened to those.
well, let me fill you in.. sometime while sol was dismissed from the group for the second time, the elders searched the brief case.

How long did it take you to get over it?
by AK - Jeff inone of the posters here - before i knew she was a poster here - in fact before i knew of this site at all, sent me an email early on in my exit.
she likened the whole leaving thing with grieving over a dead loved one - said it took most about two years to work thru all the phases of that loss - denial, anger, etc.. i think she had it about right - that's about how long it took me.
but without jwd it would have been longer.

i dunno. its odd even after leaving this cult still affects my life. i always believe in being the best person i can but the wounds i got from the society affect how i live.
for example depression. i had unbelievable depression and even now, some days i won't go out at all because i just feel 'low'. its because of what i went through. thanks to the society i don't have a proper relationship with my mum, infact she is more like an aunt. ( i don't not love her, just no trust for things that you trust your mum for, the things that you take for granted, the things you don't say...they went after she kicked me out. How can a mum just 'let go'?)
why should i have good and bad days for something thats meant to liberate. they don't even make leaving easy yet it should be choice!

Do you think it bothers elders, to know they can not control us now?
by free2beme inlast summer i went to a wedding of a relative that is a witness.
we're not disfellowshipped or disassociated, but have been inactive for about ten years.
because no one mentions our history to others, very few members of our relatives congregations, even know we used to be witnesses.

wow, control freaks eh?
i remember my mum was crying at a meeting, and even though she was just depressed and it wasn't me. This elder took me outside alone and said "its your fault, you've upset your mum" but i hadn't! i was only about 10 and hadnt been going long.

This whole fear issue
by Lady Lee ini have some friends who are christians.
i have gone to their church a few times.
never once have i heard them or anyone else say they have to attend services.

yep! i always think that religion is good to talk about in a relaxed environment with all seeing each other as equal. JW's start the chats with them in control and them being the 'experts'.
A thoughtful post as always LL - thanks

You Know Its The Truth.
by ScaryHairy inyou all are lost here, you have left "god's" organization and him.
you know its the "truth" you are just too lazy to make the effort, but you like it that way, to be worldy.
live as you want to and not how "god" tells you.
