Has a very poorly dog.........
by watersprout inbit of background info..... we have a neighbour who is a complete psychopath, she has tried to get us evicted, turned neighbours against us, bad mouthed us to our visitors.. last year our dog who is a jack/staff and is very healthy started to go downhill.... lethergy, depression, vomiting bile, coughing.
we took her to the vets who ran loads of tests on organ failure, cancer etc and they all came back clear.
he repeatedly asked us if she could have eaten anything.

Keep your dog away from the garden now, i'm not meaning to sound rude but now you've established the cause you need to prevent the dog being poisoned until you do something about the mad woman next door. Personally, i would fit a camera secretly that overlooks your garden and get some evidence. When the dog goes out in the yard, keep it on a lead and watch out for anything suspicious. When you have evidence take it to the police.

Help Please. Mother says she can prove I will die using the bible alone, no WT literature
by scooterspank inshe says she can prove i will die if i'm not in the "truth" strictly using the bible .

Well your mother isn't acting very Christian like at all for a start. Her way of converting you is to use scare tactics and fear? More importantly she has no idea and cannot prove that she will be saved.
One thing is on your side and that is time. Tell her straight that one day you will be next to her as she lies on her death bed. Warn her now that she will die, of old age because Armageddon will not come.
I personally would point out that Matthew 7:1 warns Christians "Do Not Judge, or you too will be judged". Your mother is judging you and that goes against the Bible.
Matthew 24:36 - The Witnesses predicted the time of the end many times. This is scripturally impossible so WHY did they do it?
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Deuteronomy 18:22 warns of False Prophets.
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
By those terms, the Watchtower Society is itself a False Prophet and therefore her message/the word of the Watchtower and its publications is to be ignored completely. They predicted that events would happen and were wrong. This scripture does not say anything about motives, so whether or not the Society were genuine doesn't matter - they are false prophets.
Two scriptures in Luke warn against groups like the Watchtower Society who continue to warn of signs of the end, obsessing over them rather than focusing on the important things.
Luke 17:20-24
20 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; 21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [b]in your midst.”
21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is [a]in your midst.”
22 And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24 For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day.
Luke 21:8 - The Society claim to be God's mouthpiece, his channel and in a sense God himself on earth.
8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. -

I am considering suicide...
by Nebeska Nada inunder the wheels of a train.... .
i feel really bad.... i don't want to be in the cult anymore.... .
i was thinking about that whole meeting today.... .
-
KW13
I hope you stay here and find comfort, because the people here are just like you and many of them have been in the same dark place.
Suicide does not fix anything and there is no return from that point. At least right now, options may present themselves that will allow you to be happy.
I would recommend you start to write a diary, put all your thoughts and feelings into it and use it to reason things out. Write it as though you are writing to a friend you trust. That way, you cannot be judged or hurt but you can still offload and get things out of your head.
Don't let the Watchtower Society rob you of the most important thing you have - Life. It, YOU are too important. All those memories, thoughts and feelings - good or bad will one day make you a balanced and strong person, who will be in a position to help others in need! -

I am not suggesting for a moment that you didn't make the right decision, because although i was for a while 'cut off', i have now got the 'best of both worlds' - family and i am no longer a JW. That said, i also have the satisfaction of knowing that in 60/70 years i did the right thing, and lived MY life the way i wanted to.
The more people who go back/stay in that religion the more chances it will stay around. I'm not judging those who do it, i even understand why but i personally could not because silence is in some respects the same as condoning the society's actions and its history. How do you expect others to find reason to leave if you remain in?
Could you honestly go door to door or conduct a study, ruining someone elses life as you indoctrinate them to improve your own existence without any thought? -

Am I wrong for being angry at my dads funeral last year?
by shakyground inthat's the question that i have been thinking about all day for some reason.
it's 5:30 am and i been in and out of sleep all night.
let me go into further detail to explain.
-
KW13
As people have already said, the Witnesses tend to focus on the 'truth' rather than the person. That said, the last two funerals i've been to at a Kingdom Hall have actually been somewhat balanced, which was suprising!

The Watchtower will use any excuse to bring up "bad associations"
by sabastious inlive with jehovah's day in mind (pub 2006) pg 135. beware of bad associations!.
20 what can you young ones learn from the 12 prophets?
one of the most-quoted scriptures in discussions between you and your parents may be 1 corinthians 15:33 about avoiding bad associations.

I have made some pretty good moves forward in the social world. However, when I first came out I had a harder time with social stuff. I get called 'weird' a lot. It's going to take a few more years to get the Watchtower weeds out of my psyche.

My guess is you've only been out a few years at the most? You'll get there, it takes time and patience with yourself!
