Watchtower failing in it's stated purpose
by yaddayadda inthe watchtower is failing in it's stated purpose contained on the inside cover of every issue.
"it keeps watch on world events as these fulfill bible prophecy".
when was the last time you read an article that discussed current world events and how they are related to bible prophecy?

They are afraid to go out on a limb anymore
it would be interesting if they sent out a call for ALL witnesses to don their placards and hit the streets:
"THE END IS NEAR"
that would be "going out on a limb". i wonder how many would accept the invitation...

In love with a JW, HELP!!!
by secretlove in14 years ago i was a sophomore in high school and fell head over heels for a senior (we'll call him mike) who wasn't really in to me.
i was raised catholic and he, a jw.
i wrote him lots of notes, sent him teddy bears and tried to win his heart.

in my very very humble opinion, love is never what it seems.

ummm, questions:
did you guys actually discuss divorcing your current spouses?
did you guys voice not being happy in your current marriages?
did he say he wanted to be with you?
perhaps i need more of the story, but it sounds to me like he's not making any decisions soon...

No help from the JW brotherhood?
by greendawn induring your time as jws were there times that you were in need for some help from the jw brotherhood but felt let down because no one cared to help you?
did you feel resentful and began to suspect that this org is heartless and hypocritical?

okay, just a quick post (this is getting to be addictive) and then i must go walk the dog (god i wish i had a yard).
but last year, my other half da-ed himself.
i have since allowed myself to question things to the point of finding valid answers elsewhere than from the secret society, and as a result have not been to a meeting in 2 months or so.
1 year since hubby da-ed himself and 2 months since i've been to a meeting. so who's called? not the elders. not my friends.
in fact... my friends started some pretty vicious "gossip" that finally got back to me so they had to be put back in their place. that might be why they haven't called. but the elders have no excuse. not that i want them to call. noooooooo.

Marriage - Why bother?
by Spectrum inyet another friend's marriage has broken down(5th), this one i did not predict at all.
it came as a shock to me.
they got married after 10 years of living together so it's not like they didn't know each other.

Good things about marriage: this partner for life can be such a source of stability in your life, someone to always come home to and be totally comfortable with as someone above said.
Bad things: they can totally insult you and your family, and you get so so so mad, but then you stop and think, there is absolutely nothing I can do change this person. And I will be sleeping next to them for the rest of my life
We are good friends first.
yep. been there...
there was a lot of passion and fun and understanding in my marriage. then there was a lot of supporting and crying and bitter frustration.
ah, the joy.
but i'm still not convinced to do away with it entirely. not my marriage, it's already been done away with. but marriage in general.

Was Adam's "fall" part of God's plan?
by dorayakii inthe watchtower society and many other fundamentalist christian faiths believe that god is omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent.
in other words he is almighty /all-powerful, all-knowing and all-good.
his omnibenelovence though, clashes with his omnipotence in that if he is powerful enough to change the human condition, and he is willing to do it, why does he permit suffering?...

to have such a trick played on them as having temptation thrust in their faces was a cruel move.
for me, that spawns another question, why was the serpent even TALKING to eve. was this an apparent show of the naivety on her part? and then adam, simply going along with it, again not questioning the source. if the only source of communication they had a part from betwix each other, was with god, so then could they possibly have thought that the serpent was god? or a god.
and THEN, if god is omni-everything, could he not have been alerted at this disturbance in the garden and rushed over to stop it before it was too late?
or was this the dawn of televisionaries... god watching the commercial-free scene from his living room.

Would YOU Have Allowed Your Child To Die Instead Of Giving Blood?
by minimus inbe honest.
i believe there was a time we all would've done it or at least say we would've done it.

4 months ago, i was praying to whichever spiritual being there might be out there, that i don't get sick or pregnant and have to face that perfidious truth. to take blood or not to take blood...
now, after reading the "society's" organ transplant about-face, and how they are inching towards one for blood transplants, it's sad and disgusting that we ever thought that way at all.

lonely...
by aoxo inhello, i am newly dissociated and was wondering how some of you who grew up in "the truth" have started relationships.
i have never dated for obvious reasons and am now 26 with no experiance and extremely shy about this whole dating process.
i have tried places of interest like gyms, workout classes and even eharmony with no prevail.

i think i may have busted my spleen laughing through this thread.
first - TRUE GOD innocently treads among the wolves...
second - the reveal.
third - the fact that 50 posts later, people are still welcoming TRUE GOD.
oh, so funny...
