Ohmigoodness, April 12 it is! That barely gives me enuff time to shop for my new wholesome outfit! Such an event! I will need new shoes, handbag, spring coat, modest dress, nd a new haircut to go with my pious smirk! NOT!

oops ...sorry.... in spite of our protests, how do we ex-dubs feel about donating blood and have we done it?.

I'm all for it, in theory. But I get dizzy and squeemish just having a sample drawn at the doc's office, I think I'd prob'ly faint if I saw a whole bag drawn from my arm! I truly want to donate when I get braver. B positive here... is that in demand?

I've voted many times now. My husband, a military veteran, doesn't bother half the time! I still get a thrill out of it, because it was forbidden for so long.

JGnat, thank you! You are right, I should find many signs of God in the things around me every day. I am alive, and the sun came up, and a beautiful day it is, snow on the mountains and bright sunshine. I stand corrected and appreciate the reminder. I guess we'll all find out when our days are over, how we did! Meanwhile, we try our best. But, here I go again...can't we have a sequel to the Bible for our times, lol?

Thanks, everyone for giving me a lot of comments to ponder on. It does just feel good to be a kind and decent person, that is, when I manage to do that, lol! But, if we reflect God/Jesus qualities when we do good, I wonder why we never see any evidence of their existence, or their force in today's world? Or do we? Is the Bible the last contact God has made with humankind? Why can't he let us know he's still aware of us?

i casually mentioned to my jw friend yesterday that the local paper carried the ap article on jws.

he asked what it was about.

i just said "something about the changes in the blood policy over the years.

Yes, hopefully he reads it closely and then mentions it to others... but I really think the average Witless doesn't know and doesn't wanna know. Then they'd have to do something about it and it's just easier to float along on the warm fuzzy comfortable cloud of euphoria.

I am friends with a girl at work, even though she is the Union Steward and I am Management. We have a high regard and respect for one another. She was also raised a JW but left as a teen. Recently, somebody told me my friend had talked badly about me at a company meeting. I was hurt...she was still nice to my face. I cleared the air with her and she was shocked at what she supposedly said about me. She thanked me for coming to her rather than being hurt and just believing it. I felt really good driving home tonight. I had done the right thing, being loyal and open with my friend, Then I found myself wondering out loud: Does anyone in heaven really see us, or notice when we try to be a good person, and do the right thing? Is Jesus really up there? Does he care when we try to be good persons? What do you all believe? Is anyone watching us?
