Well, it's funny...while lots of people are heading to my state for summer vacation, I am trying to go someplace else! I like to see places I haven't been to yet, see new things.

Does anyone else feel like their damaged goods?
by MsMcDucket ini feel like this all the time.
i have a husband that loves me, but i still feel like if i ever were on the singles market that i would not be a "good catch".
my health problems and most of all being a former jehovah's witness makes me feel less than perfect.. i'm having a pity party.

MsMcDucket, you are the only MsMcDucket we will ever have, and you are special! None of us are perfect in every way, and our spouses married us because they love us the way we are, as we do them. We have our lumps and foibles, but they make us, US! The one our families love. Love yourself, too, and enjoy life every day. If you get bummed out, ask us again, and we'll tell you we love having you here!

Wanted: new parents and siblings
by sass_my_frass ini'm a 32-year-old almost-newlywed female in the market for some new family to replace the, you know... .
i need parents who will make occasional expressions of pride in my achievements, show concern during the bad times, and keep me up to date on all the gossip from home.
in exchange i'll contact you at least once per week, do my best to help you with any problems you may have, make you feel needed, travel with you to places you want to see and financially and emotionally support you as you get older!

I could be a quiet, dependable middle sister who takes care of you and drops off soup when you're sick. I don't have any brothers or sisters, and I, for one, would be thrilled to have you as family! They should be too, for shame!

Picture of Mouthy Granny Grace
by mouthys_gdaughter ini'm mouthy's grand daughter... she emailed me and said y'all wanna see a picture of what she looks like.
in order to do that i had to sign up.
i hope she doesn't mind ;)

Nice pictures, and it's fun to see what Mouthy looks like, she's one of our favorites on the board! It's uncanny how much she looks like my own Granny, who sadly is still trapped in the Borg.
I like her name, Mouthy, because you can see she's not afraid to say what she thinks is right,

For All Who Are Going to the Convention This Year
by drew sagan infor most of us who are going to the 'delieverance at hand' district convention we want to be low on the radar.
but wouldn't it be terrible if we missed out meeting someone else from the board while we attended the same convention?
listing what convention your going to might be to much of a give away for some people, but i really don't care.

It must make things really difficult for large families! First, someone (prolly Mom!) has to get up extra, extra early to make sandwiches and pack drinks and snacks for possibly Mom, Dad, and five kids. Then the cooler has to fit under the seat. So now, they may be toting two coolers. Plus, somebody (prolly Mom, lol!) had to make an extra trip to the grocery store to buy all the bread, soda lunch meat and ice for all these exciting lunches, remaining in the hard seats and remembering not to wander too far.
What a loving provision of Jehoopla, so families don't have to endure delicious, hot meals any more, or suffer from making choices form a menu board offering variety and tasty items!
Yes, Jehoopla has lovingly simplified the meal arrangement!
Plaster the place with McDonald's wrappers, dig 'em out of the trash cans to have a few extra!

Will Bill Gates be destroyed at Armageddon?
by Virgochik ini just watched the wgn- chicago evening news.
i was so moved by the segment on the gates foundation.
bill and melinda gates have already donated 10 billion dollars to charity.
-
Virgochik
Hehe, Greendawn! Yes, what if people should ask, if the Gates' can be charitable, why can't Crooklyn? And it hardly jibes with their incessant cries that the world is getting worse, worse every day, when such a wonderful act of goodness is reported.

Your guardian angel
by greendawn inthere is always a lot of talk among the jws about the fallen satanic angels who turned away from holiness to practicing evil and tyranny, but what about the holy angels?
there are guardian angels for nations, cities, and individual humans, do you think you have one?
their duties are to protect from visible and invisible enemies, to teach humans divine justice, show them the good way, and comfort them during stressful, difficult times.

Virgochik
Satanus,
I don't doubt you at all, but exactly how do you know that you have several? Have you glimpsed them? I would love to see mine!

Eden's snake=Watchtower?
by mkr32208 inwas talking to 'anne' tonight and had a thought... (gotta be a first time for everything right!).
if you break the story down to brass tacks what really happened was this.
in eden the snake said "you don't need god!
-
Virgochik
Interesting theory. Both ideas are from Satan, if you follow it through. Both are designed to detract from God.

Talk Prayer
by under_believer insomeone posted something in another thread about how prayer is often used to summarize the content of the meeting.
this is absolutely true and is something that always has really bothered me about witness meetings.
jws often use the opening or closing prayer to "teach" the congregation.

I resented the lecture-prayers, because there was a sense of obligation to nod and say "Amen" to all of them, no matter how awful they were. After they got you all pissed off, there was peer pressure to agree by saying "Amen" because everyone else did. You just couldn't say, "That was too terribly long and I'm pissed off from standing with my head bowed for an eternity!" Nope, no can do.
