I don't think that anyone can believe in anything 100% until you see it for yourself or it happens to you. I believe most of what I read on here, especially when there are facts backing it up. I think though I tend to be more cynical in my life with relationships just because with my parents I've been let down with the conditional love that they show me, so I just assume everyone else is just going to let me down. Wow... such a positive post, lol.

Why I post here
by Wordly Andre inwhy do i post here, i havent been to a meeting regularly for almost 16 years, last time i attended memorial i was 14, my wife and i are roman catholic, all my close friends are not jws.
so why do i feel the need to post on here if all that is in my life is so far away from the kingdumb hall?
these are questions often asked to me by some of my friends and sometimes even my wife, they say well you left that behind years ago, that is true, however most of my family on my mothers side are still jws, i still deal with what i went through going up in the org, being able to share that with other people who also had similar experience is great.

I post here for the support and because I know that people have gone through something similar and they can relate to me and I can relate to them. I also post here because I want to help people, not even to leave the borg, but to start questioning for themselves what they believe is right and wrong and come up with a decision on their own thinking and not let some have mind control over them.

You can just try running into people in random places. I met my ex-fiance on the way into a fitting room at a department store. I've also done speed dating... its interesting, but its like going on 20 dates in one night... you can meet plenty of people that way :).

I think it would seriously creep me out if people could see everything I did online. I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

If you ain't a PIONEER, You ain't SH**!!!
by Open mind inmy loyal-dub wife had a wonderful morning knocking on empty homes earlier this week.
last night she confided in me with an observation.
she has noticed what she perceives to be a "pioneer clique" in our congregation.

Yea, it was terrible because the people I got that from the most were my parents. They said that's what everyone should be doing and that if I wasn't, then I was bringing reproach on Jehovah's name.... f*ck that!

At what point have you crossed the "cheating" line?
by free2beme ini have been married for awhile, and in my 14 years of marriage i have seen many other marriages of friends and relatives, come and go.
most, if not all, were caused by cheating.
at work i work with a lot of people of different faiths, to no faiths.

To me, married or in a long term relationship I think that any physical contact that could be construed as too much is cheating. But as long as my boyfriend tells me that he's going out with somoene of the opposite sex who has been in his life before me isn't cheating. I have friends that are men and he has women friends, I think to say he is not allowed to go out and hang out with them is a little extreme.
