Great point!!!!I I have always been dismayed about the status of women in the borg..If anything, that alone proves that the religion is manmade crap..Imagine,thinking that women are not as capable as men in making decisions and all..someone on another thread pointed out that if women were elders, itd be a gentler, more humane religion in the disipline aspect..I believe this is true, altho at the time i believe that it was said tongue in cheek...ive been to a few meetings lately, and the women are stepford women..docile,gray and meek..not one of them stands up straight..like i said b4,either obese baby makers or small grey withered quiet husks..and truly, women are so much more than that..maybe its different in other areas, but this is what i observed first hand here in my area.i am writing a book on the subject, and trying to be objective about what I see...Its very very interesting to come back in as an adult, and see it thru an adults eyes...

what's in it for the women???
by chelsea ini have often wondered what's in it for the women???
i just read the story of minimus and it is so clear that such power and privilege on offer to males in the borg would be enticing and probably addictive... but the women will never have such offers or opportunities.
they will always be required to be in subjection.

Homosexuality - how do you see it now?
by MariAruet inas witnesses we were indoctrinated to frown upon anything even remotely related to homosexuality.
but it is not only, witnesses i'm reading about many fundamentalist religions doing exactly the same.
some of you are christians now, what is your view of homosexuality now?

Bible fundamentals have no place in my life.I adore most homosexuals that i know.and probably like most gay men better than most 'straight' men that I know.I dont believe that the 'norm' is heterosexuality..Its just another choice.Sorry all of you out there who 'live to spawn',and reproduce..and no,im not gay..Didnt jesus hang out w/young attractive men and eschew female company?hmmmmm.

New Stupid Assembly Rules
by WTWizard ini have heard on this discussion board numerous rules that apply to upcoming a$$emblies.
some are designed to stop people from meeting the opposite sex; others, to make sure everyone is always ready to recruit new members into the scam.
i heard that some km inserts have been urging those whose congregation has cleaning assignments to sit in the section that they are assigned to clean.

I do remember when they sold food at the assemblies.tiny pieces of pie and rancid subs..yuk...just as well to bring yer own..I would imagine that one gets judged on what one chooses to bring to eat as well.like,no humus and sprout sandwiches..god forbid anyone be a vegetarian.hohoba made the creatures of the fields as food and all that...

Do You Think The GOVERNMENT Should Require You To Wear A Seatbelt?
by minimus inin new hampshire, the council that has power to make laws happen, voted against the mandatory seat belt law.
it appears that seat belt use will remain voluntary.
do you believe the government should require such laws??

Owning Cats discouraged by JWs? Was that ever anything taught in the Truth?
by NotaNess ini came across a sight a while back where an overseer posted a topic on cats having pagan and worship origins, and giving scriptural reason why "true christians" should avoid owning cats.. this was a site from someone not in america.. any experiences on this at all?
i had a witness say this was obviously posted by the "evil slave", and was not a witness, cause that's never been taught by the fds.. what can you tell me?.

Our Watchtower Study On obedience & submission
by dark angle inyesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.
this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.
we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.
