This topic is something pretty painful for me right now. I thought all my life that all moral dilemmas like this were black and white, clear and understood. Good people don't have affairs, so the "innocent" mate would be self-righteously horrified (and blameless and victimized by the evil adulterer). Well, things at my house are not so clear and defined any more.

Has your work up in the past ruled out arrhythmia (irregular heart beats that can cause tiny clots), clotting abnormalities, chronic DVT's, carotid artery narrowing, severe hypertensive episodes, etc? TIA's can be a warning that you are at risk for "the big one", or can just be mysterious, frightening episodes that are called TIA's for lack of a better label. Your doctor should decide if aspirin therapy or some other anticoagulant would be helpful, or if some underlying cause can be treated.
If symptoms of a stroke (loss of vision, weakness in one arm and/or leg, speech problems, inability to communicate, etc) occur, go immediately to an emergency department. If diagnosed early, 'clot buster' medication may be used to restore blood supply to the brain before permanent damage occurs.
This is in no way intended to diagnose or direct your care, just my input as the nurse who administers those meds. See a real doctor!

Hey, nurses: The March issue of Nursing 2007 has an article entitled "Can a Bloodless Surgery Program Work in the Trauma Setting?" pp.54-56. It's very pro-witness. I'm tempted to write a 'comment from readers' but not sure what to say. Anyone else read it? I'm not sure how to scan it on here or I'd post it.

I have a secretary at work who drives me nuts! She is loud, nibby, multiple loud personal phone conversations all day, blunt and rude to the customers and coworkers....I could go on and on. Our complaints fall on deaf ears, as the differences are explained as 'cultural' differences and this is just how 'they' are, and I should go to the cultural diversity training again...NOT.

My funny Memorial story...
by nsrn ini think i told this story last year on here, but it's worth repeating for a good laugh.. my last memorial i attended was with my daughter, who was about 5. i took her and went to please my parents, of course.
my daughter went to church with me regularly and so i had done the intense 'instructions' enroute about not partaking, etc.
i got more and more tense as we arrived and got out of the car.

My daughter went to church with me regularly and so I had done the intense 'instructions' enroute about not partaking, etc. I got more and more tense as we arrived and got out of the car. I mumbled to my daughter/myself on the death march in "I feel like a whore in church!"
Well, you guessed it. We weren't there 2 minutes when my daughter's voice piped up with, "Grandma, why does Mommy feel like a whore in church?"
Silence echoed. Mom mumbled something about 'she probably does feel a little uncomfortable here....' and never mentioned it to me again.

Flashbacks...what a feeling

I have been out for all my adult life (I'm 45) but my elderly parents are ill, and I spend alot of time with them. I hear myself use jw-ese language easily and hand my dad the daily text at breakfast--it's a transport back in time to my childhood. Some good, some bad, but eerily familiar. They listen on the phone to the meetings, so I make sure I'm out of there before that issue arises.

Hugs to you, Cog. I'm with you, hiding out in the opposite end of the house from my husband, with my laptop. I'm past crying now. I'm biding my time, getting organized, considering starting a new life, if I'm not too old.
It's an ice storm here, so I'm waiting for the inevitable power outage. I went to the grocery for my elderly parents today and cleaned their house a little, fixed them lunch, etc. I've cleaned here at home, cooked a beef roast in the crock pot, and taken care of the zoo (I mean our pets, of course). Took a nap too late in the day so now I'm AWAKE.
