yes, the km lists the changes, but i went to service meeting last night, played dumb, and asked the lit servant what book would be studied when the bible/teach book is finished...
i now have a new, crappy, perfect-bound softcover copy of the "2006 printing" of the revelation book--not "revision", not "revised edition", but "printing".
the gall of these arrogant sacks at bethel, i tell ya....my housemate and i spent about two hours going through the old and the new side-by-side and, thus far, have found several flubs that contradict the changes made in the new book whilst leaving others on the same topics undone elsewhere.
Didn't they request that certain books be taken out of KH libraries.
I seem to recall being encouraged to throw out the single copies of the mags when the bound volumes were available for the prior year.
And, of course, being discouraged from reading old literature as it would only be confused with 'new light'.
I'm curious about Blondie's comment about book burning...

as i have posted about getting colon ca and having surgery and now going through chemo, the stress on me for keeping up my responsibilities at work and keeping up a home.

i am doing ok and jake is finally doing housework as i just don't have the energy to do it.
Thanks for the update. I'm so glad that people are stepping up to help.
Sometimes, especially at the beginning of treatment, people around us feel as shocked (and angry) as we do. And they often feel so helpless that they forget how much some simple things can make all the difference in the world.
One simple thing for me was moving my clothes from the washer to the dryer. I preferred to do my own laundry but moving to the dryer wore me out. I also like having someone in the house during my chemo weekends because I was nearly comatose for those 36 hours. Someone to answer the phone and door and just to peek in on me really helped me feel comfortable.
Relish those who offer help. Let them help any way possible. And remember to find fun.
You will do just fine.

the reason is that there are two examples given in the bible of birthdays and bad things happened both times.

this is my first post so i guess that means i am not a lurker anymore.. i have been inactive for nearly 2 years now, but recently my teenage neice was df'd.
she has moved out of home with another df'd girlfriend of the same age.
i know she is getting a lot of pressure from my family to come back, and of course she would be feeling very alienated and probably confused.

How about asking at work if anyone has extra/spare kitchen supplies and sheets and towels. You could take up a collection for them. If you feel uncomfortable giving it outright to her for fear of being exposed as a child-sympathizer, you could leave the box on their doorstep or with their landlord and tell them it's from some people who are proud of them and know that they are going to be OK. There's a lot of good, kind, generous people in the world.
I have boxes of kitchen stuff that I'd be happy to donate but it's an awful far drive to NSW from California.

Welcome to JWD!! It's always nice to hear from people who've been lurking for a while.

I'm sorry. This does not sound like a 'nice' person. It sounds like a cold-hearted person. I understand that the mother is probably feeling desparate about losing her daughter to the world, but I really don't think that 'nice' people can buy into that mentality of utter cruelty.
My mom sold my bedroom furniture at a garage sale while I was out of town. I was still a witness and in very good standing. I still resent it to this day. (It's been nearly 30 years.) Your niece will need lots of love and understanding. I hope that you will be able to provide that for her.
Having her and her roommate over for dinner weekly (or every other week) will help them to feel connected and may be the only balanced meal they get to eat for a while. Making them feel welcome in your home will go along way. It's the kind and loving way to be.

ok i'll attempt to make this a board that will help me but will also be interesting for others to read and post about... here goes:.
as you may know i'm 17 and in a little under one year i intend to da myself.
there are these two kids my age, one boy 3 months older than me (the only male my age that i know) and his sister 1.7 years younger than me (the only cute girl i know.
You two are a little too similar. And almost exactly a year apart in age, too...!!
LtCmd - I'm sure that many others will have some great advise for you if you 'bump to the top' tomorrow by re-posting to this thread.
My thoughts are that you will have enough to do to get yourself in position to leave (and all that that will entail by being a young witness with 'believing' parents). Focus first on yourself - it can be a full-time job in itself. Let your friends know that your love and friendship is not conditional and any time they want to get in touch with you, they will always be warmly welcomed.
Start making educational plans for yourself and talk to a guidance counselor at school to help you. You might also tell the counselor that you expect your parents to kick you out with no support when you turn 18 because you do not wish to follow their religion. Ask the counselor for assistance with getting yourself ready for the Big Day.
Keep us posted here and maybe ask RichieRich for his phone number. He's got some good ideas. And this board has some amazing people who can help you stay grounded so you have a successful launch.
