Why do you believe the story of Moses & 10c...
by DannyBear inwhat is it about early man's facination with high mountains?
the story of 'moses and the ten commandments' is filled with legend and mystery.
it was the necessity of god jehovah, to select a mountain undergoing fear inspiring lightning, thunder, and clouds, that first got me thinking about this whole 10 commandment story.. first of all moses is selected to climb up there, by himself (convenient), next he witnesses a bush burning, that never burns up.

Do JW's really 'trust in Jehovah'????
by DannyBear injw's claim to trust their god jehovah implicitly.
they fervently preach, teach, publish unending articles about god's protection, even baptising converts who have sworn an oath to jehovah and his "representitive organization" .
they believe unreservedly that god takes a, moment by moment, active role in watching out, taking palpable action on behalf of jw welfare.

by DannyBear ini have read much discussion about understanding the fanatic muslim terrorists reason's for this attack.
even suggesting that they have a legitimate basis for their hatred of the united states.
even a call for more tolerance toward, this sect of hatred.. yet these same individuals make it very clear that they cannot tolerate jehovah's witnesses.

'The Big Kahuna'
by DannyBear injust finished watching the movie the big kahuna, with kevin spacey and danny devito...great stuff.. the story centers around three, industrial lubricant marketing reps, hosting a hospitality suite at a convention site in the midwest.
kevin spacey plays the part of an irreverent, tell like it is (farkel) no time for 'dummies' chracter.
danny devito a 52 yr old facing midlife divorce and considering suicide.

Wounded spirits...saddened hearts...life is short
by DannyBear inall of a sudden this day, my spirits tumbled, my usual inner peace, turned sour.
it was like a veil or cloud that decended on me, a feeling of intense sadness.. anyone visiting or posting to this board over the last few days, has witnessed the 'wars' waging around us.
i was very much a part of them, feeling a sense of relief that they were over.

How openminded are you now?
by DannyBear injudgemental and closeminded were exact descriptions of my former jw self.. recently on another forum, someone posted a cartoon depicting the character urinating on the bible.
i had an immediate revulsion and concluded this was not appropriate, letting the poster know my thoughts.
other's on the forum did not see it as i did.

Introducing myself..hello all...
by DannyBear ini'am dannybear i have been lurking around here from time to time, for the last several weeks.
this forum seems to be a friendly group, not to mention i see jt, englishman, focus, waiting and few others that are very familiar to me from h20.. i live in california.
i was raised as a jw (third generation), got the unceremonious 'boot'(df)in 1980-81 been so long..i can't remember the actual date.
