What Double Standards Exist With Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus into be a "good jehovah's witness" you must be able to live by double standards.
you have to know how to play both sides to the middle.
you have to speak and act one way with certain persons and another way with the others.. one example of how witnesses live by double standards:you cannot join the ymca because jws can't involve themselves with religious matters or else be shunned.

after 9/11 i heard a brother describe the death and carnage as 'tragic but exciting'.
it seems to me that jw's have their heads so far up their own arseholes that they cant even react in a humane way when things happen in the world.

After 9/11 I heard a brother describe the death and carnage as 'tragic but exciting'. Is it just me or is this a totally twisted way of looking at what happened in NY that day? Can you imagine hearing ANYONE else describing the loss of thousands of lives as 'exciting'?
It seems to me that JW's have their heads so far up their own arseholes that they cant even react in a humane way when things happen in the world. Always looking to fit it into one of their pissy little prophecies or something.
Did you ever hear anything like this?

she thrust sticks down their throats when they misbehaved and made them eat dog food.. one daughter was forced to use a wheelchair for four years even though she was perfectly able to walk.. doctors, teachers and neighbours raised constant concerns about spry's treatment of the children but nothing was ever done by social services.. the catalogue of abuse only came to light when one of the children went to the jehovah's witness elders at the church the family attended.. spry, from tewkesbury, was found guilty of 26 charges of cruelty after a three week trial at bristol crown court.

These are complete pish water. Experiences like these always made me feel angry at 'god'. Its like, he can kill an informer here but leave one to inform in another place and all the sisters end up raped. He can blow over a tree to avoid a pissy little kingdom hall but cant save a family crushed to death by a tree somewhere else. JW`s - Thinking of themselves all the time. PISH!

If that were my mother I would have taken offense at what she said about my children being killed and I would have informed her that unless she wants to be 1st apologise and then be reasonable and have a relationship based on what/who you are now, then she is no longer welcome at my home or on my telephone.
Really, I would.
How any of you with family who are like this cope, I do not know.

but, what does it take to see through the councel to shun your own children, mother or father?
in my opinion, a person who shuns their offspring or other family, is void of any natural love or affection.

In my opinion, a person who shuns their offspring or other family, is void of any natural love or affection. I know that people will say that it is a branwashing thing, that people just do it because they are told that it is the right thing to do, but I cant accept that.
The thought of being seperated in any way from my beutiful son and daughter just tears me up inside. So how can people go about doing this deliberately?
Are they mentally deficient? Do they just lack what it takes to be a good parent? Are they really believing that they are doing gods will?
Any thoughts on this?

Did you ever get tired of hearing the WT's reason for why suffering exists?
by truthseeker inright now, the wt is publishing their "very soon" series of the awake!.
soon - an end to suffering.
the articles are the typical "why does god permit suffering", followed by the issue of universal soverignty, the fall of adam and eve and a concluding "very soon now god's kingdom will bring an end to worldly governments.".
