so as many of us have experienced over the years since being out, out past can certainly play a role and often does in our present lives.
my past has crept into my relationship, and as my gf did not feel equipped to handle and/or talk about any of it, this was a large factor in what led to our breakup this weekend.
i've felt like i'm going to puke since about 4 a.m. saturday.

Sorry you are going through this. Whether you get back together or not, have you thought about getting counselling for what's weighing on your mind from your past?
Your GF probably has no clue how to help you with those issues - she's only young too.

i went to a spanish congregation and there were different hispanic nationalities and one in particular used to snub, criticize and make fun of the other one.
very unchristian and so the opposite of what they preached.
In Australia, aboriginal JWs generally go to separate congregations. Even though they speak English. It's organized by the WTS.
there was this awesome girl i truly fell infatuated with at 16...laura harris from washington, nc.
it was mutual, but she was 18, and in dub years those two can be huge!
missed her for years, and when i think about her, i get a smile with eyes closed....same thing with betsy from dunn many years later.....we were both married and to gooda dubs to be bad with each other....damm it.............................oompa.
The young bro I was in love with at 20. Yes, he was lovely but he married someone else. He became an elder. I saw him recently and had no inclination whatsoever to talk to him.
all boe have just got a letter telling them to encourage all parents to be more on guard with their children.
suggestions such as not letting your young children go to the toilet on their own, not working with older men on their own and not leaving children in the car on rv's and calls un attended.
the letter basically instructed the elders to remind all family heads that its their responsibility to protect their children whilst at and away from the hall etc.
They still say on their website (www.jw-media.org) that "the incidence of this crime among Jehovah's Witnesses is rare."
(This was in their reply to the NBC report on victims of child abuse settlements.)
my wife burst into the computer room and found me {gasp} talking with apostates on this site!
now she doesn't go witnessing anymore and only very rarely goes to a meeting...but talking to apostates is not on!
i quickly closed down but had to log-off later so she doesn't find out that iam "witness 007.

i have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.
things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.
my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.
That is such great news!!! Congratulations to you and your family, what a beautiful baby! You must be so happy.

over the last 7 years i have been helping a young man who is now 16 and whose mom is a witness.
his mom has three children all different fathers the young man i have been helping had a father in prison and 6 months after he was released he was shot and killed so my young man has never really had a father.
since i have stopped going to meetings about a year ago his fat ass mother who is basically worthless has resisted my help to her son.
ldrnomo, the mother has been happy for you to associate with her son despite you not going to meetings for the last 12 months. Have they had a CO's visit recently or attended an assembly?? It could be that she's paying attention to her son at the moment because of something she's read or heard but this may be a passing phase.
Ultimately, the mother has responsibility for her son and the right to set rules. I think the only option you have is to respect the wishes of the mother for now. Make it clear to the son that he can contact you at any time. Maybe after a couple of weeks, check how things are going and she may have softened in her attitude.
