So my undercover "exposing the lies" is still working
by BonaFide inyesterday in the car group in service, 5 of us in one suv.
so someone says that on friday, a worldly family member of their bible study had died of a drug overdose.
then he said, "well, that the protection that we have being in jehovah's organization.".

Wierd story! I was Harrased by Witnesses before attending the Memorial!!
by Witness 007 inafew days before the memorial the phone calls started.....i even had a long message left on my answering machine while me and my wife were "busy" in the bedroom.....it was very distracting.
i could hear "memorial blah blah if you want to go blah blah or call this number sister blah blah she went on for five minutes!...the next afternoon because i shift work i was having a snooze before the memorial and knock knock knock......i get up blurred eyes and all and yes witnesses reminding me for the 100th time there is a memorial on..."sorry i'll let you go back to sleep.
" at the memorial this same brother yells at me from his car in the dark carpark.

That lovebombing would be so annoying, 007! Hopefully once you settle into a routine and become just another familiar face, they'll leave you alone. Just set your boundaries early with how many meetings you are going to attend (as few as possible, I guess)!

The Official What happened at the Memorial thread
by truthseeker ini thought rather than everyone start their own topic relating their experience of attending the memorial, we keep it simple and have just one thread.
if anything, it's saves bandwidth.. i will be going to the memorial tonight and will post my experiences afterwards.. all the other memorials i attended, i was an active jw, so this will be my first experience as a submarine witness.
it's weird being on the other side so to speak.

2002 was the last time I went to a memorial. Last night I enjoyed a nice glass of wine at home.

Long time lurker, 1st time poster
by Mattieu inwell where do i start, perhaps will go into more detail later, though briefly - 40 years young, raised in the truth (kingdom baby, which meant i was never going to make it to primary/secondary school/work/get married/have kids....) former ms, regular pioneer, learnt 3 foreign languages, served in foreign language group, married (wife still goes to meetings), beautiful kids, baptised at 15 years of age, regular pioneer at 15, grew up in divided house.. .
hmmm, will go into my issues with all things organisational later, though firstly want to apologise, for being a self righteous spiritual pratt who did things by the book and sat with other elders/mss and prejudged others for not doing enough and having a wrong attitude about all matters spiritual and organisational.
i stepped down as an ms over a year ago (they were grooming me to be an elder), havent been to a meeting in 3 months, i knew it wasnt the truth for a number of years and have struggled badly the last few years.

Welcome Mattieu! Great to hear that Aussies are leaving. I bumped into a fellow fader during the week and she was able to tell me of several JWs from our old congregation who have left - including a former elder. It seems to be more "fader-friendly" here than other countries (like the US).

Due to Global financial crisis each Aussie gets $900 from the government?
by Witness 007 inyes what a great country we live in!
the government pays us $4,000 for having a baby {we need to fill this part of the earth} and due to the economic crisis we get $900 dollars from the goverment....of course some people tried using the baby money to buy a plasma tv so now the draw out the payments rather then a tempting lump sum..

Hi Steve, good to have you back! Glad your life is going well. I'm sure having a new partner would do a lot in helping to put the jw issues behind you.
and told them that I did not have to sign an agreement to be baptised so why would I sign one to leave
That's straight thinking! I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when you said that.

Understand the Witness mindset before we blast them with facts
by BonaFide intelling a witness "hey, all the stuff you teach is bs" may be correct, but does that approach work?
i have been reading on here how several have tried that direct method with their family or friends.
it didnt work for me, and now i am having more and more success by repeating that i support the organization and the faithful slave, then i bring up "an interesting point".

Interesting. All I know is the direct approach doesn't work.
