Think it is around page 350...somewhere in that area.....I am quite unfamiliar with the past (or present) pubs. Went into a used bookstore this past weekend, wanted to see if they had this on the shelf, but my wife was in too much of a hurry....had a winery to visit

Wow, sounds like some wonderful progress has been made, am quite envious!!
I believe my wife is in the 'honeymoon' phase right now, I am hoping that in the near future she gets a bit easier to talk to about this.
How would it be to discuss blood, the changes in the fractions one can accept, how one can accept an organ transplant and that is not cannibalism and also where in 1 Samual 14:32-32, where in an emergency men were provided forgiveness for eating blood....
I am very happy for you KZJW

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 08-24-08 WT Study (AUTHORITY)
by blondie inrank and file.
12:2) far from being independent, they are "slaves of corruption," to use the words of the christian apostle peter.
is everything non-jws do from satan?.

Thanks Blondie for another great review. I am amazed when I read this how they are able to play hopscotch with scriptures and make it say what they want, and it seems that no one at all critically looks at it to see what the referenced (and sometimes even quoted) scripture states in the context it was meant to be read.
How similar is this message to that in the public release watchtowers, are they more like the Awake, pretty much a lot of fluff and paradise earth??

"Accept Jehovah's Authority" - Study Article 24th Aug
by passwordprotected inwhat space does that leave for jehovah?
the theme text is 1 john 5:3 which refers to the un-burdensome commandments of god.
quite what that scripture has to do with authority is puzzling, as it talks about the love of god not jehovah's authority.

50% of all study articles, and keynote speeches at the assembly are devoted to this "Obedience to the FDS" theme.
I have also noticed the same in reading the watchtower's that are posted on here. Is this a significant change. Have read quite a few posts here that it appears that the assemblies, the WTs and other documentation, including the publications, are going more towards rules and authority and less towards the doctrine, is that a fair assessment?

Bible study with PO/sister and wife, did not go well......
by insearchoftruth inlast night....did not go well at all, at least in my opinion.
i feel that the sister from her conversations with my wife started on a quite defensive mode....did my best to stay level headed, but i know there were times i was frustrated, and it showed.. .
the husband and wife were about 40 minutes late, due to traffic, and they were not prepared to discuss michael/jesus, and with respect to the doctrine change, he merely provided me a 1995 and 1997 wt article, when he and i spoke on the phone, he said he was going to show me in the bible, he sort of danced around this a lot, but not to my satisfaction.. .

jgnat - great idea....she is finally open to reading the Bible....
Like that verse slappy, and if I remember correctly, the JWs use the Bereans at times to talk about how 'studious' they are?!?
I have Captives, very interesting, but the key to me is getting her to understand the significance of the 1918 appointment, she actually does not understand why I have asked her about 1914, so will be work to get her to this point.
Have been showing my wife the unconditional love I have for her, and this agape love is what makes this so darn difficult, she is a wonderful and beautiful person....but her personality is too easily swayed.....there are some things that she will stand up for beyond reason, and others that just get the best of her......
Well not sure if this has any significance or not, but she was to have gone to a Mary Kay event last evening with a neighbor, who cancelled on her, so instead she told me she was going to the meeting instead. She had spent a fair amount of the day with another neighbor and her six month old child (who my wife adores) and even after my wife told me she was going to the meeting, she told the neighbor she was going to the Mary Kay event...so far my wife has told NO ONE outside of myself and I would assume the jws in her family she is studying with the jws.
Ends up she did not go to the meeting, ate buffalo wings instead...Well not sure if this has any significance or not, but she was to have gone to a Mary Kay event last evening with a neighbor, who cancelled on her, so instead she told me she was going to the meeting instead. Can i just ask about the public and non public watchtowers..
by dobbie infor those of you that know, is there any difference between the two?i haven't been here for a few months and wondered if the public wt is tolerant and friendly than the witnesses one,and if the witnesses one was more hardline, covering the more controversial things?would just be really interested to find out if the public one has articles more designed to catch householders out, without putting anything in them that could put them off ie discipline (shunning) or blood etc.
thanks!

Good question, are the study articles in both, or will they loan my wife one if she goes to a sunday 'meeting'?
