Have ya ever seen Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel? That show is awesome, plus they always try to debunk their findings, but some they just can't. I would recommend you and your guy watch that show together!!!!

online courses?
by snarf ini was thinking of getting a degree in medical coding with one of those online colleges, has anyone tried those or know of anyone who tried it and what was the outcome?
are they legitimate degrees or is it a waste of time and money?
also, if anyone has any experience or knows of anyone with medical coding as a job, is it a good job or is it bad?

Rachel,
Just when you start living your life, they come back in and mess with you in one way or another...too bad it has to be through a 10 year old. I would just keep it simple and to the point. Contact with your 10 year old daughter is unacceptable especially without your knowledge. If you find that they have contact with your daughter again without your knowledge, especially involving picking her up and taking her to a location without your knowledge you WILL file a restraining order against them as that is kidnapping. Make a copy of the online conversation for court documentation just in case. Also, I would delete the contact info from your daughter's online account so they cant mess with her head.
So sorry to see you have to go through this crap, hope it goes away fast for you.
Lots of hugs!!!!

Raising well rounded and balanced kids...what have you done right?
by My MILs worst nightmare, a nonJW inparenting is one of the most difficult yet rewarding things there is.
doesn't every parent want their children to have a good moral compass, to have good manners, to be socially adept, to be compassionate, to reach their potential and even overachieve in terms of school and career, to appreciate and understand history, science, the arts and the world as a whole, to play team sports when they are younger so they can benefit from physical activity and the comraderie of a team sport, and above all to be a critical thinkers who are strong and independent so that they will not become easy prey to abusive organizations and/or abusive people?.
as a parent i have many times felt like a real failure and at other times like i am actually helping them to reach their potential.. what do you feel that you have done right in raising well rounded and balanced kids?

Positive reinforcement! No matter how much trouble my daughter gets into, which really isn't that much, I ALWAYS remind her how smart, beautiful and loved she is...no matter what. I keep the lines of communication rolling...ALWAYS ! Never be too busy to sit and talk with your kids when they ask for a chat. I always tell her to tell me the truth, even if it hurts my feelings or shocks me, cause I was a kid too and I had the same experiences and questions, plus if she can't come to me with the smaller things, she definately won't come to me with the bigger issues.
The most important thing in my life when I was a struggleing single mom was to NEVER EVER EVER put a man before my child...EVER!! If a man wants to be a part of your life, he WILL take a backseat to your child, your child is always your first priority.

What planted the seed of doubt that lead you to leave or think of leaving?
by NanaR ini've been thinking of this a lot lately.
the following experience ties my first doubt in with my present life.
as a backdrop to this, you should know that i was a 5th generation "raised in the truth" jw through my mother (her great-grandfather got "the truth" from pastor russell).

Do You Really "Care" If Someone's Gay Or Not???
by minimus inso often, you see people all up in arms because it is revealed that an individual is "gay".
do you really care??
personally, i don't.

I really don't care if someone is gay or not, cause no one cares if I am gay or not..lol. On the issue of gay marriage, I say why not? They pay their taxes, contribute to society, volunteer and vote just like the heterosexual population. They should be allowed the same privileges as any American, because they are Americans. As far as the Bible debate goes, they are the only ones that have to answer for their actions, not us. Drunks, child molesters, idolators, greedy people and wife beaters are all allowed to marry so what makes a homosexual worse in the eyes of the church, if you believe that lifestyle is wrong. To me it is nothing more than a political issue that seems to go towards the favor of the one donating the most money.
