I agree mostly with MinisterAmos.

I personally, was in Cuba Summer 2006 and was shocked how cynical the country has become towards tourists. Trying to rip you off at every turn. A far cry from how welcoming and hospitable they were in the early 90's.

I hope that when Castro dies that it can stay relatively untouched. Fat chance.

Although Castro kicked out Batista and his American crones and things are better than they were, i can't really feel all that good about him.

His people live in poverty, still tied to ration books. He doesn't!!

Then again, Communism usually does spawn dictators.

I firmly believe that if Ernesto Guevara could come back to see the state of the country, he would revolt again. But this time against his former comrade.

Could Britain become a racists paradise?

my husband works for an engineering company.

he is a highly skilled engineer and runs the maintenance department.

in britain at the moment it is very difficult to find highly skilled engineers and so firms have been recruiting abroad, only to find that these 'high' skills are just as rare abroad and also nearly as expensive.. so, my husbands firm have basically decided, to cut costs, they have written out a new contract for all their workers.

I don't like the UK.

I also believe that Enoch Powell was right in his infamous 'Rivers of Blood' speech.

Our immigration policies are way too lax.

I don't hate Poles, Bangladeshi's, Pakistani's or any other race but i do hate 'sectarianism' and opening up our borders to anyone who wishes to come is encouraging sectarian behaviour, where different nationalities stay glued together in their own ghetto's not even bothering to learn the indigenous language. That is bad for the unity of any nation. Integration is the key.

Pre-requisites should be firmly laid down. I have great admiration for Australia's firm stand on immigration.

Britain will pay a very heavy price for its vote winning (really?) political correctness.

hi everybody and happy new year.

2007 is the year i turn 40, in fact in exactly one month's time to be precise.. i've noted that a lot of people on jwd are a similar age to me.

i think it's because it takes us this long to pluck up the courage to finally leave the borg.. i need to know how turning 40 makes you feel.

I had my big crisis when i was 30.

40 isn't a big deal. IMO when you get past 35 you're pulling away from the days of your youth physically anyway, so..........

You could get all deep and philosophical about it but i don't see any need for that.

The one thing i would say though (being a qualified Personal Trainer) is to stay as fit as possible. Physical fitness is one of our main keys to happiness and longevity.

Enjoy your.....erm.....maturity.

i do not tolerate small-minded witnesses who called me 'brother' for most of 40 years, now acting as if i am no better than sh*t on the bottom of their shoes.

How do I deal with my hatred?

i know that thousands of you have gone through the same thing i'm facing but right now it doesn't help.

i know that some of you have faced much worse - losing family through the blood issue or having to deal with abuse and i know that in comparison my problems may seem not so severe but as bad as it sounds knowing all that just doesn't matter right now.. it started yesterday and there's no stopping it, the official shunning.

one member of the family right now will see the month end with me losing my sisters, brother and my mum.. i love them and i know that in a sense they are victims too but i just cannot reach them.

I have come to the conclusion that JWs are amongst the worst people a person could EVER wish to meet. They are scumbags and not worth the shit off my shoe!!!!!!

Decent people DON'T treat other humans like that

I was one for 15yrs and am ashamed of the times i shunned people in the past.

This thought may not help you with your present fellings of anger but i just wanted to say that i'm understanding your feelings.

You'll work through it and learn not to give a flying 'you know what' about them, whether they're family or not. Blood is not thicker than water. Maybe that's hard for a Greeek to swallow being such strong family people but it's sooo true.

I don't even look at them in the street anymore, they're not worth it. Put your energy into something worthwhile and don't waste any more of your precious love on something that doesn't give positive energy back.
