Yes, it would seem that was the case. It's a filthy, twisted organisation and personally i can't believe in a million years that the GB don't KNOW that they're deliberately misleading people. The 607 issue is only one item, there are many others.

That's one of the most mature and level-headed introductory posts i've ever read.
You seem to have your head very tightly screwed on.
To invest negative energy towards these people in an ongoing way is to continue to give them power in my life, and I want to end their power.

The healing process is different for each one of us but heal you will, either directly or indirectly through interaction with people from a similar background (i.e. fellow former JW's)

i try to be open minded and not judge anything but when i see these movie commercials----.
i think it was saw iii or something, all this blood, gore, shrieking and grotesque violence, all i can do is ask with a sense of awe --why?
why would someone want to watch that?.

I like to think i'm quite a broad minded type of chap but some of that Horror stuff is clearly for 'strange minds' only.
Having said that, my son went to see that Tarrantino movie the other month, 'Hostel'. I was shocked he'd decided to go but he was equally shocked and disgusted in a bewildered type of way at what lengths Tarrantino had gone to. He went with a girlfriend....she loved the film, hmmmmm, i'm glad they're not romantically involved.
It's not entertainment....is it?
Even the films that don't show all that much gore can be really disturbing. 'Seven' totally freaked me out...still does.

there have been a lot of christian threads lately, so i thought that i would open a topic for other journeys.
because there is no way i will ever be a christian again because the curtain has been opened and i can see behind it, however i have an open mind and have started some meditation practices.
i have been thinking about visiting a buddhist temple out of curiosity.

I would say i'm leaning towards the more Eastern Philosophies at the present, though not that deeply.
One chap that was recommended to me was the late Barry Long (Try the Barry Long Foundation website) who was a remarkable modern writer that took the mysticism out of the Eastern stuff and wrote a more down to earth philosophy, whilst still keeping the depth of Eastern spirituality.
I'm currently reading a book by him about getting started in meditation.
I also agree with you with regards to the Christian journey. I feel so sorry for people still trapped on that road, following a fascist god.

What I'm suggesting is that we are all living our lives based upon our best guesses; that Truth is an illusion; that very little, if anything is a certainty, no matter what side of any argument you stand upon.
I'm agreeing with most of this quite arresting statement. I do believe though, that we can come near to the truth whilst on this earth (if not find it altogether) and we do this by the process of refinement within our own personal system of belief.
I do not for instance, think that any religion related to Judaism (i.e. Christianity, Islam or the aforementioned Judaism) holds any true spiritual enlightenment. I believe this to be part of the TRUTH and that there is absolute certainty in that deduction.
As for absolute truth, i don't worry about it but i believe that ALL of us will one day be fully enlightened. Each ones personal journey is different but eventually it will result in absolute truth.

things are getting nuttier here in the so called "united" kingdom.
we now have a female moslem classroom assistant who has been suspended from her place of work because she insists on wearing a veil in class.
bizarrely she works in a church of england school and at the interview wore no veil while being interveiwed by a man.
Like Gill, i find the veil wearing quite offensive!
In THIS country people like to see each others faces whilst engaging in conversation. I'm not a big fan of Mr Straw but he was totally within his rights to request this. Gives me the creeps actually. Other countries have their particular traditions and idiosyncratic ways that i would like to think i would observe if i visited, within reason.
Oh it's just a joke, it really is! Political Correctness is now becoming Religious Correctness and its out of hand.
I truly hope that i'm not in this country in 20 years time.

i was born with believeing parents, so automatically, i assumed that there was a god because my parents told me so.. when i was young, i prayed before going to bed and said thank-you for all that i had.. later in life, i realized that what i had came from my parents, not necessarily god.. today, i still believe in god, but i wonder if he cares.. there is something worse than no god.
it's a god that doesn't care and doesn't answer prayers.. when you look at the world as a whole, and see all the suffereing and injustice, you don't ask yourself if there is a god, you just wonder if he cares.. .
We are all masters of our own destinies and are not in need of a 'god who cares'. Of course it would be nice to think that an omnipotent god could come and rescue the world from its woes but that doesn't seem to be on the cards does it?
I believe all will be revealed in time and when it is revealed, we will be thoroughly enlightened.
The god that i used to worship is not someone who i want to be associated with and i reject him/her/it absolutely. The god of the bible is utterly revolting. If one has a true and honest sense of justice, then the god of the bible cannot serve our interests, for he is NOT just.
That said, i do believe in eternity...but i'm not confused because i'm not particularly searching.
I also believe that we are here for a purpose but my ideas on these 'new' thoughts of mine are not totally structured at the moment.

I am firmly of the belief that ANYBODY that believes this book as true and correct is sorely deluded.
Regarding the section under the sub-heading of Cruelty, if a person is going to carry on worshipping that evil, EEEEVIL deity after having an accurate knowledge of its dealings, then that's bordering on the ignorance of someone that followed any other practiser of genocide and abominable cruelties.
Jesus Christ followed that god, he quoted its words and announced that he too would one day carry out acts of MASS KILLING.
I also believe that one day the world will, largely, wake up from following these evil, sugar-coated characters.

there was a post on the other day someone was asking about whether the wt monitors websites such as this and other "apostate" sites.. unfortunately i couldn't find it to add this to it.
i remembered a jw who worked on installing computers at london bethel, some time ago telling me that the wt did monitor websites.
this jw is gradually fading away from being one, so can't say to much about him.
Well at least they know how much we hate 'em and that we KNOW the game.
I hope they ROT for their devious, evil lies.
Big Brother is truly watching us then. But he won't control me anymore!!!!!

i just sorta gave up as my heart was not going to be manipulated anymore.. so, sometimes i kinda feel like i have a defective heart.. i don't know why this song comes to mind............it just did.. .
