i was a witness that married a 'worldly' guy.

When did Jesus return?

i know this has been talked about before but i still find it ...interesting.. if jesus did return in 1914(invisibly) why do the jw still observe passover.

was it not to be observed until he arrived?

maybe that is the new light jesus did not come in 1914 he is coming now, and that would explain why this may be the last memorial.. just a thought

I'd just like to say I'm behind this 100% and I've recruited a friend with like mindedness in another hall to do the same. I hope everyone on this board takes this call seriously and does their best to contribute. Maybe we could drop a couple S77 forms in as well.. I would say even if you don't agree you should contribute if you have the means, after all this is a community and we should support each other.

The Bible seems to show that Jehovah chooses bad leaders

i was watching this history channel production, and it was talking about israel and their kings.

it mentioned how saul was a bad king, how david was a king who let lust and greed take him over.

plus, we know moses made a big enough mistake to not be allowed into the promise land and then we also see jesus bad taste in followers with the judas incident.

IMHO - The whole theme of the Bible is man's inability to please God.

God seems to be a character that likes to set people up for failure, he makes man imperfect, sets 'perfect' standards and then punishes man when he is unable to comply.More than that, even 'perfect' creatures like angles, the first humans and perfect humans in paradise.

Take a look at this for example:

Rev 20:7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Here we see that after (They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.) and shows that once again, in the new paradise world their will be 'nations' and they will be mislead by Satan and turn agaist God yet again. We can only assume this will go on forever, mankind, angles, whatever life God has created will always fall short of God's expectations of them and be destroyed in the name of divine justace.

some educated people may have expected that by now, belief in god would be banished to the realm of the ignorant, the gullible, and the naive.

The idea of six days not being literal is NOT supported by the bible:

Exodus 20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 34: 21 "For six days you may work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; on that day you must rest even during the seasons of plowing and harvesting.

Is Exodus 34:21 refering to six peroids? I don't think so!
