The only way people become Witnesses in this modern times, is ...

lets face it, average people off the street are not the people who are becoming witnesses.

in the past, that is how a lot of our relatives became witnesses and that is why we did all that door to door work, looking for more people like there was in the 1950's and 1960's.

in this day and age, these are the people becoming witnesses.. children of witness : they are raised in it, and unless they do something else as an adult, they are highly likely to do what they know in life and become a witness.. depressed, or mentally troubled people : people who just lost someone they care about, and are emotionally open to hope.

Low educated people : I do not even buy a car, without researching the information on it. Anyone who blindly goes into a religion, in this information full society, is highly uneducated or one of the above categories.
That is pretty much it. I bet if you are someone who came in within 1980-now, you fall in one of these categories. I don't run across a lot of people saying, "because god moved me too" or because they found me in the field, to much in that time frame. Would you agree?

I was 16 years old and in high school when I became a JW. So, I guess I fit into the low educated people category.

when, as one of jehovahs witnesses, we found householders unwilling to listen to us, we were at times frustrated.

the comparison often made was to a burning house with people inside.

we were trying our best to warn them of danger, but usually they would not listen, often scoffing at us.

I am only speaking for myself. If I personally would have come across a website such as this one 10 years ago, I would have dropped the JW religion like a ton bricks! I only stayed in the religion because no one came to me with an alternative rational view on JW doctrines.

The real reason the WTS can get away with their lies because the majority people are ignorant of what the bible really says. How many you studied the bible before you became a jehovah witness?

Baptism is necessary for getting into Heaven. "Unless a man is born again, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of the heavens." In Jesus own words.

Is baptism necessary for salvation or eternal life? Why the bible teaches that there will be a ressurection of the ungodly on earth to be tested by satan at the end of the "thousand year period".

I believe faithful baptised Christians go to heaven while bad or ignorant of God's will; people are brought back to life on earth.

Like the book of Jesus child life. The bible clearly states Jesus performed his first miracle at the wedding. But this false book has him performing all kinds of miracles as a child which is a lie.

New System Questions

ok, so the new system is just around the corner, right?

if you mary your deceased best friend's fiance what happens when the three of you meet up again in the new system?

i mean i know the reasoning that the dead will be resurrected to perfection and will feel no more physical pain but what about the emotional pain?

Also note that the WT "resurrected" can die (again), in opposition to this text.
The change of perspective which the WT doctrine implies (some people getting into the coming age through a resurrection, others without a resurrection -- yet not being "changed" as in 1 Thessalonians 4 / 1 Corinthians 15) makes the point on marriage ludicrous and psychologically painful to many a believer. Yet they cannot apply this text to "spiritual resurrection" because the situation discussed is pre-Pentecost.

Yes, this is what I was trying to say. The watchtower teaching is totally false. I use to believe if died before the end of the system things, I would never get married or have children.

It's so sad that they teach rightous persons will neither get married on earth or go to live with God in heaven.

Actually, Jesus was reffering to good persons who die and go to heaven. His reply was in answer to a question about a man assumed to be a worshipper of God. When jesus said that the person in the ressurection would be as angels. He meant that literaly. When faithful Christians die, they become spirit persons similar to the angels.

However, people who died without the knowledge of God will be able to get married once again in the new world.

Jehovah Witness's false interpretations of the Scriptures run more deeper than you know. I suggest dropping everything you ever learned from them and read the bible over from scratch without their preinterpretated teachings.

Russel didn't believe in organized religion and he didn't believe that the great crowd was an earthly group. The real founder of the WTBTS is Rutherford (misspelled his name).

If Russel was alive today, he would not have anything to do with Jehovah Witnesses.

Share your most embarassing moments

you have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes.... here is one of my most embarassing moments.. i was in 7th grade and also the new kid in school.

this happened during one of our first big test's, i think it was my english glass but i am not sure.. i had bad gas for some reason that day and had been holding it in instead of "dusting the crops" in the hallways (which is a great way to shed your gas without having to claim it).

i am sitting in class trying to concentrate on the test while holding in my deadly gas with all the strength my buttcheeks could muster.
