as many of you know i will be meeting with the elders from my hall today.
i had decided to come clean and just tell them that i don't believe in this anymore.
however tonight i talked to one of my friends who is still a witness and i realized that there are a lot of people who would be very hurt if i got dfed, so i have made the choice to go into that meeting today and lie my ass off.

Just wanted to offer some words of support and encouragement -- the unconditional kind. I've BTDT with JC, it's horrible -- my heart reaches out to you.
No further advice on what to do and how to do it. I agree on the dress code -- go Amish. :) Little make-up (just enough to smear a bit when you cry), no jewelry etc etc.

so i'm out in california a while back visiting my father and sister.
my fathers 4th wife is from new zealand (no he's not a jw).
at the same time her son and wife are also visiting from new zealand and they have 2 children 6 and 9. well the wife is out in the back yard and me my sister and father are in the kitchen when the daughter in law comes running in saying, "i need a plaster, i need a plaster" i just thought "yea i need to get plastered too.

i've been dating this lady for over a year now.
feedback -- This is where we (gently because I know it hurts) say "told you so". She has chosen WT over you, as she would have down the road anyway. Better now than if you had been married...
advice -- Take it as a lesson learned -- stay way the heck away from JW from now on. There are plenty of women out there that can be true to you and their hearts, completely.

i'll tell you one thing that just got to me this morning.
i was playing tennis and at around 9:30 my tennis partner and i looked up and lo and behold!
2 witnesses were walking up the street.
I will go along with "smug". A MS in my KH is constantly scoffing at 'unbelievers'. I can't think of any examples, but it happens a lot. I really really hate it when people put down other people. :(
now that the gerontocrats have dispensed with their annual springtime campaign of blustering everyone away from the wine and bread, it's now time to for the yearly decalogue of decorum; an epistle to the clueless.. in the april kingdom ministry the old farts tackle their annual chore of getting their dubbies to somehow behave like normal, thoughtful human beings when let loose on the public away from their kingdom halls.. what do we find on page 5?
``reminders" to the rabble not to save seats; not to leave the premises during the noon lunch break, nor to bring booze or large coolers; to tip at least 15% to 20% when dining at restaurants.
this, i believe is a first; they now feel they have to coach jws on just how much is considered apopropriate by ``worldly" (read ``normal") human beings.
So glad I am not going this year...

after my wedding i sent out an email to every non-witness i know and jw parents and a couple of siblings; the first group to stay in touch with old mates or turn near-strangers into friends in a time of needing them; the jw family group so that they'd know what's going on in our lives and how the wedding etc went and partly because i didn't want to be 'shunning' them; i wanted to be the one showing love and making an effort to maintain contact.
i sent another out recently, i figure i'll make it a biannual report on the life and times of the frass family.
it's nothing at all controversial, just a 'what we're up to' email.
Please bear with me while I analyse this. Firstly; 'public forum'? The only names they knew on the email list were other siblings and our parents. Secondly; 'respect'? They want me to respect them for being loveless, hurtful and, somebody please give me some good words for what they're being? It's been a few weeks since I sent the email so they've probably all consulted and discussed how to handle this situation. How inconsiderate of me!I kind of knew it would happen, but thought they even if they have no love at all, they still might want to keep receiving them so that they can pretend to our non-JW family that they care what happens to us and avoid giving them the impression that they are, those words I can't think of. Maybe the tone of the emails were so upbeat and cheerful that they picked up on the general vibe on my life now; they might have got it sussed that I'm actually happy and can't handle it. More likely, they just feel compelled to play the JW game and don't see anything wrong with it.
I haven't yet read what everyone else has said... My reaction would be to write to him what you just wrote here.

Oh yeah, and -- if he doesn't want emails from you, he can always just block your addy. It's not up to YOU to stop communication, the stupid shunning rule is his, not yours....
