Okay, historically my mother has always called me and Jim and our kids on all of our B-Days - ALWAYS, we've been married 14 years and she's never forgotten and neither have my siblings, until this year. This year she has decided that she can no longer continue her tradition, it isn't right. This year she has decided to get religious on us. Gotta love the Witness mind. After 30 years of calling us now it's no longer acceptable. Must have been our "disfellowshipping" and our christmas tree. I expect she'll stop talking to us shortly. I think I need to go to the Memorial, sit next to her and Drink UP! Thanks for letting me vent.

mostly going over what went wrong and why.. if i shown more love, etc, etc.. but i wonder if the witnesses was like the rolling iron crush ball smashing into the demolishing building.
i am trying to think, blame them?

I can't begin to tell you all the damage that the elders did when they were attempting to "heal" our relationship - thankfully we both woke up and left!

by rebel8 inhttp://www.geocities.com/zpg1957/narcissists.htm i've had some narcissistic types in my life and boy, does this article ring true.
(this is not true of my mother but just like a mirror image of my sister.

Rebel8, I think I'm going to cry, so much of this sounds like my mother and my mother-in-law, both baptized in 1974, so many things...so many. Thank you for the article. 30girl

That is so heart breaking, I can't imagine the drives with dramas and talks, oh wait, my parents played them for us too on trips. Just be honest with your dad, there's not other way. My heart goes out to you!

Talk on Apostates
by IslandBrother inhave you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?
by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.
have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

Oh puke. On the lighter side, the Society must be feeling some pressure from the critical eye of the informed society they keep trying to endoctrinate. Isn't it ironic that by their own definition they are Apostate? And, why is that the first finger they point, why?

Enlightened - Welcome to the forum, your story was so familiar. I too have been pulled aside a time or two and sat through the painful process in front of both of my parents while my mother kicked the back of my chair every time I didn't respond the way she thought I "should" respond. We come from familiar backgrounds, all of us, the landscape is horrifyingly familiar where ever you go for a reason, so you know and recognize your "place". The last time my brother was in town he didn't call to tell me he was going to be in town and I didn't see him. I guess I find his behavior particularly odd since it was my husband and I that sheltered him in our home for years when his sham of a witness marriage fell apart, it was my husband and I that have always reached out to help my siblings. Maybe time will end their own miserable sentences in this cult, it's what I hold out hope for. Welcome and cheers - you're among friends. 30girl aka Carrie

Why Is Everything Always Wrong To A Jehovah's Witness???
by minimus innothing is ok. everything is problematic..... what if you stumble someone???--------.
let's say you want to invite someone over, you gotta worry about someone thinking your favoring this one over another.
you might be accused of having "cliques".

Some of the pillars in my old Hall were so petty they would pick on the mentally handicapped behind their backs while volunteering to help out with them, like picking them up for the meeting...ooops forgot to mention, the one doing the picking was a Servant's wife, she did some galactically stupid things herself and she didn't have a legitimate excuse

"They all loved you more..."
by Confession init's a quote from "legends of the fall," the novel by jim harrison, and the movie, starring anthony hopkins, brad pitt and aidan quinn, and it reminds me (in a way) how i've felt for most of my life--both in the jws and out.. in the story, aidan quinn is the brother who always tries to do the right thing, living up to his responsibilities, treating others well.
but pitt is wild, generally irresponsible and unapologetic.
quinn's character says something like this.... 'i have tried all my years to live by the rules of god and man, while you have lived by none of them, brazenly doing whatever you pleased.

TRISTAN! I loved the movie! I think it's perception. It's hard to measure love, even when what one may perceive to be greater admiration displayed toward another sibling, friend, etc., you must not mistake the overt for the covert - could be other things at work.

I'm torn, I love all the colors! I find green comforting. I love blue and red too. Choices, choices, choices. I don't really like white. The only thing I like to be white is snow.
