Hi I'm one step ahead of you, I joined Weight Watchers 9 weeks ago and have already lost 13lb. I still have 15 to go though, then I will weigh 9 stone and then I will be happy with my weight.

Thanks for telling your story. I'm glad you are out of the organisation now and that you have a loving husband who knows exactly what you are going through.
If you want nothing more to do with your family, it will be their loss and not yours. They have chosen to reject you but to support and love your paedophile brother! That really sums the jw thinking up doesn't it. You're better off without them, and besides, you have all of us now so it makes no odds.

Why do people hide on this site?
by Adolfius insomething i've noticed when reading the various threads on this site, is that so many people seem to be afraid.
their scared of being disfellowshipped, scared of being shunned, scared of not being accepted by the congregation, scared that people may find out they don't believe anymore, scared if anyone was to find out they use this site.
there is advice for people on how to avoid being disfellowshipped, if they may have "said too much" about their thoughts, or how to fade without being noticed.. i don't understand this.

Some people hide and some don't, like myself.
You haven't been exactly fully open with us though Adolfius. Why have you not entered your age and where you're from, they should be showing up under your avatar. Also you haven't filled anything about yourself on your profile. Are you hiding a little bit?

Just posting a few pics here - I hope you don't mind!
by tim hooper ini'm a bit of a newbie here i suppose, but i've been fascinated by the photo threads that pop up now and then - notably leo's, purps and sparks.
so i thought i'd do my bit for posterity and bring you some pics from the uk that i've taken over the last few years, if that's all right with you that is!.
although i'm fully digital these days, my early work was film-based so, as a result of that training i tend to just use photoshop in the same way that i used to use my darkroom - ie.

Fantastic pics, keep 'em coming.
I wish I could take better photos. Perhaps when I'm retired and have loads of spare time to persue such a hobby.

Why the hell did they leave their kid on her own in that apartment?
by needproof inwell, a big story here in the uk is that of missing three year old girl madeleine mccann, who was abducted from a hotel room in portugal whilst on holiday.
i don't know if international posters know much about this story but the news is massive here and top businessmen, sports stars and celebs have put up over 2 million as a reward for her safe return.
this is the map of where she went missing: .

In my opinion they are stupid, irresponsible parents and they are paying the highest price for their lack of regard for the safety of their children. I don't know anyone who would leave three sleeping toddlers alone and go out enjoying themselves. These people obviously don't realise that when you have children your life has to change, that means you don't go out for meals as much as you used to and if you do you get a responsible babysitter or you take them with you.
What if one of the children had woken up, they would've been terrified to find themselves alone.
What if there'd been a fire.
What if one of them was sick.
What if there'd been a sicko paedophile in the area - oh there was!!!
I feel for that little girl but I totally blame the dim wit parents.

"Mature" JW's READ THIS:
by Honesty in"mature" jw's, what do you "believe" you are accomplishing by coming on this board?.
page 371 paragraph 22 of the june 15, 1967 watchtower magazine says, "in addition to all of this, a persons faith can be weakened by what he reads and takes into his mind, dwelling upon "higher criticism," relying on worldly philosophers.
it should be remembered that, when we are reading a book, the author of the book becomes ones teacher, and for this reason great care should be taken in selecting reading matter.

Oi Beroean, shouldn't you be at the meeting or in field ministry? It is SUNDAY remember. Instead you are wasting your time (or perhaps counting your time?) talking to apostates on the Internet (haven't you had a Watchtower article dealing with the dangers of this?).
Noone really cares what you think, unless you are really here because you have doubts of some kind (my money's on that option) in which case you are welcome. But get to the point and stop berating us, we are all liberated and happy now and we don't need people like you telling us we're not.
GOODBYE.
