Now I know why the authors remain anonymous for those silly poems . . I woudn't want anyone to know I wrote those either.

how about a bit o'dub poetry ? ((BARFF ALERT))
by nelly136 ini've been seeing a few of those wonderful recycled experiences we all know and love so well.
so it seemed only right to share a bit of dub poetry to warm your scraggy cockles.
marry only in the lord - 1 corinthians 7:39. i'd like to tell you a story, about true love at last.it's very informative and has an interesting cast.so pay close attention, it's sad but true, and don't ever think this can't happen to you.. i met him during lunch break on a sunny day,he sat next to me and smiled, as i was about to pray.we talked on and on.

JW teenage pregnancies...............did you know of any ?
by vitty ini was in the borg for 20 of my adult years and i must say that in all that time i only knew of one sister who got pregnant before she was married.
she was given a public reproof and was never treated badly.. considering a lot of the teenagers did most things they shouldnt have and many did get reproved for immorality, i am surprised that many didnt get pregnant.
especially as they would of likely not have been taking contraception.. was this common in you kh or area?.

I used to date a guy who's dad was the presiding overseer in their congregation. The daughter ended up pregnant by another brother and they got married but they were both DF. About 4 years later she got pregnant by a guy she worked with while still married. ..was DF again. I have no idea if she got reinstated or not.

I refused to go and and they d/f me anyways. .I figured why sit through the inquisition. I wanted out anyways. I wish now I DA myself instead. I think my parents view DA differently then DF. My sister DA herself and they still talked to her. They won't talk to me - only write a few letters here and there telling me to come back before it's too late.

Where do JW's take their breaks today?
by moshe ini was at a buffet restaurant on saturday for lunch and noticed a boy around 10 years old at the ice cream sundae bar- he had a suit on- .
i was curious as to where jw's take their breaks today and what times they stop for one.
i am on paid leave from work and would like to look for more opportunities to talk to them..

I was having lunch with my daughter at Wendy's on Saturday and two people walked in that were dressed up. They had that JW "look" to them. I noticed that they didn't have any kids but they drove a mini-van. I know a lot of people in my hall that were childless but drove a mini-van for field service.

my wife's cousin is a jehovah's witness and she never stops trying to slip religion in when she phones.

Just crazy! At least the blogger will probably never want anything to do with the JW's.
Oh yes . .picking out of houses and cars that we would have . . .we played that game out in service many times. How sick were we???

I was guilty of this. I think I shocked everyone when I left (as I am sure many on this forum have). I hated all the pretending . . . and fake smiles. . all the fake "joy" I had when going to the meetings and out in service.

My sister is getting married on Saturday (dub wedding)
by cyberdyne systems 101 inthe wedding has arrived, i've been maintaining a stance of not attending, but this last week had a slight change of heart and thought i might attend afterall.
i thought it would be a good chance to hold my head up and show i've got a life.
after some further thought and talking to my sister, i've decided to not attend.

So sorry you have to miss this family affair. It's a shame that they let their religion dictate to who they can talk and associate with.
Tres - your story sounded similar to one I had. My best friend (at the time) got married in big hurry at her parents house. Now this girl was in my wedding, so we were very close. I was informed that the wedding was "family only" but I was invited to the reception after (held in the house). I felt I was invited only for the gift so I passed. No thanks!

I'd probably fade also after listening to the example of the "fine Witness" couple who would not give their daughter the bone marrow transplant. I'd give my own life if it meant having my daughter live, I cannot comprend how parents can let a religion decide life threating decisions for them.

I never thought I would leave, although I never took great joy in being a Witnoid either. I guess I thought the end would come when I was a teenager.
When I first got d/f I was "ashamed" and if I saw another JW I would feel bad for days. Luckily that feeling as passed. Now when/if I see a Witness I feel proud and imagine that they are secretly envious of me because of my freedom (which they probably are anyways).
