  Outline for Special Talk "Is God Still in Control" for April 30th 2006

  at the end of this years memorial talk, the speaker gave an announcement that a "special talk" will be given by jehovers witnesses through the world on april 30th, 2006. here is the outline for that talk.. credit for bringing this to us goes to a person who must remain anonymous.

  So doesn't what is set forth below, fly in the face of what the WTBTS says: that JWs have to obey THEM considering they are NOT christ and they are a group of old mostly white men, who are imperfect. It never made sense to me if JWs no longer believe that God is no long in direct communication with humans like he was in the early days (i.e., Abram, Moses, etc.,) then how can they claim that they are being influenced to do his work. And it also flies in the face of scare tatics that the WTBTS puts on people when they face JC or the threat of being df'd or da'd. Obviously the talk is watered down for the masses of non JWs that they hope will attend the Special Talk. Someone should just copy the outline and hand it out to everyone that pulls up to the hall on the 30th. Save everybody some time and effort.

  We are involved in the issue of sovereignty (Job 2:3-5; cl 124; it-1 1210)

  Jehovah wants us to serve him willingly, out of love (De 10:12-21; 30:6, 15-20; Isa 1:18-20; bh 113-14)

  He gives each of us freedom to demonstrate that we prefer his sovereignty and that we allow him to govern our lives

  Recognize the authority given to Jesus, and submit to it (be 276)

  Christ has a legitimate right to our obedience (Ge 49:10; Mt 28:18)

  No one else has been granted that right (Jer 10:23; Ac 4:12)

  What's a good excuse to miss a meeting?

  name good excuses that should be good enough to miss a meeting but not good enough for the elders...

  That is pretty good Ballistic! Next time my mom asks me when I am visiting if I want to go to meeting with her I will use that line. Love it!

  I'm so angry!!!!!!

  well it looks like my plan to fade might not work after all.

  yesterday afternoon i was in my office when two elders stopped by for a visit.

  they came into my job and began to question me in front of my boss and my new assistant!

  It is too bad you are not in a secured building. In the future, your boss may want to post a no tresspassing sign. That sign would apply to everyone who might walk in off the street who is unwelcome at your place of business.

  Also, I thought it was the whole Caesar's things to C and god's things to god. You know, give The Man an honest day's wage for pay. What happened to that long standing rule. They just violated it when they kept you from work and your boss was calling out to you.

  I got shunned today...

  actually i get shunned just about every day at work.

  there are at least three or four witnesses that work with me and know me, but they shun me everyday( one of them saw me on this site lol) well i am sick of it, so starting today i am going to speak very loudly to them in front of people.

  i wonder what they'll do....any suggestions of what to say, just quick lines because they tend to walk away as quickly as possible

  for the DF'd: did you confess or were you ratted out?

  looking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.

  he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.

  i am wondering is these percentages.

  I have never df'd or da'd. But there was an incident where someone threatened to run and rat me out.

  Long and short of it. JW guy that I loved flipped out and went off on some elders in the hall and got df'd. I refused to give up on him because I knew he was very depressed and I was concerned about suicide. I would go over to his place and stay (honestly no sex involved ... you would know based on his emotional state at the time).

  Some chick who was very "spiritual" would stalk him. He had told me that he would see her sitting in her car across from his apt. Well one night I left his place and THERE SHE WAS in all her glory. I walked over to my car all the while she is SCREAMING at me. Then she tries to block my car. I had a little sporty car, so I just zipped around her and took off. She chased after me in her car, beeping her horn and screaming out her window. Yes, she is really nuts and I am not just saying that to be funny. So I pulled up in front of her house. I waited for her to get out of her car and I very calmly said to her. "I understand that in your small little mind that I am wrong. I also know that you are obsessed with [] and that is why you sit outside his apt. But as much as you claim I am wrong, you are wrong for stalking him. I will give you the fantasy that he loves you and you love him, because I believe that is what allows you to live your life each and every day." And I turned around and walked away.

  The next day was Sunday. I went to the PO of the cong and told him what happened. He asked me if I was going to stop seeing the guy and I said no. The PO later came to me and told me that the chick did go to him and that all he said to her was "it has been taken care of and you need to leave them both alone."

  I guess I was fortunate based on other stories that have been posted in this forum.

  Though, I know she tried to get me in trouble with others because the story got out and fast. But people felt sorry for me (hey I am all for pity if it works in my favor) and they never shunned me over the fact that I was still in this person's life and refused to leave. Nothing further ever came of it.

  Glad to know I am not the only one

  i've been lurking on this board all morning and reading all the articles about dating/having a relationship with a jw.

  because, as many people seem to, i find myself in that situation.

  i am confused becuase the jw guy is not a very consistent jw in a lot of ways.

  Owning a computer is not a bad thing for them. It is going onto the internet to do research other than what is deemed acceptable. As for college, I think they are easing up on that one, but I don't know because the JWs friends I do have, always do their own thing. Most of them are college educated and one is a college prof. So that flies in the face of the "no college rule".

  The guy you are seeing maybe just a kid who was raised as JW and does not agree w/ everything but does not want to be shunned by his family, so he hangs in there. Just be careful. The prob w/ a non-JW dating a JW is that if they have to chose between their faith (which really means family members who are JWs) and you, you may be left broken hearted. Be prepared.

  But what would be the best would be to bring into the hall a woopie cushion and go into the bathroom and make the noises real loud. I think they would go in and ask you to leave because you were causing a disturbance.

  I am traveling for work and will make the mtgs there. How will they ever know you did not go.

  Not just I have cramps which most elders cringe at, but here is one even better (I cannot take credit for it ... Kudos to April for this one ...) My flow is heavy this month and when I sit down and stand up it makes it worse. I would not want an "accident" to happen in the seat at the hall. I LMAO at that one. It was great and let me tell you it had the BOYS running from her and they never bothered her again.

  well, got a call from my sound assistant...to see how i am doing.. this brother suffers from frequent feelings of low self-worth and is actually one of the people my wife and i feel comfortable talking with.

  he asked where i have been...i said taking care of my wife.

  i told him that my wife has expressed the very real possibility she will hurt herself to me...and that i couldn't live with myself if i was giving a talk at the congo and that happened.

  I second jwfacts. Just be careful. Also, be careful not to compromise your health in the process of taking care of everyone else. You can only do so much. I know for dudes it is hard to admit that you cannot do it all. But guess what YOU CANNOT. The sooner you accept it the better of you will be. Take your time to figure out what is best for your family and you. Don't let anyone try to tell you that you are being selfish (i.e., elders know to say someone is being selfish in order to get more out of them) if you decide you need to not do as much as you were doing in your hall then say it and stick to it. Guilt does not serve a purpose in our lives, ever. Guilt is just a club that is used to beat people upside the head with to get them to do want a person wants. Good luck!
