  According to Proverbs 31:10, a good wife 'is worth far more than corals

  Of course this is also a fav of theirs to throw up to wives who are not doing what their husbands want. The "good wife" as described in prov was essentially a slave to her husband. Something that all JW husbands would love to have. I also love the catch 22 it puts the women of the religion in .... don't get married because it would better serve you to serve the lord w/o distraction .... your only value to the congo is by way of being a good example of a "good wife" to a husband who is holding a position. Which is it WTBTS? Or better yet WTBTS, just kick all the women out because they are evil and will mislead the pure men. Oh, but in the US that would leave almost no one at the mtgs, because they are all FILLED W/ WOMEN.

  BANKRUPTCIES AND FORECLOSURES IN THE US

  bankruptcies and foreclosures on homes are on the rise - 200% higher over last year.

  some are due to people falling on hard times, but the majority are due to over spending.. this affects all of us.. juni .

  There was a lawsuit filed in AZ years ago, a guy sued his mortgage lender claiming that they told him he could afford a house he clearly could not afford. What is funny is that when you looked at this financials, it was not that he could not afford the house ... he had been working making 250k a year. His wife was making 75k a year. They had a mortgage for a house that was I think 550 or 600, 30 year. But they each had a new car. Their kids (2) each went to private school. He had a boat. Well he lost his job. So they were having to survive on her salary alone and they had already max out their credit cards prior to him even losing his job.

  I don't blame Bush for this mess, I blame every idiot that thinks that they are entitled to everything in the world.

  Oh, P.S. - the guy lost the lawsuit.

  adopted Teenagers want to leave jw home

  i have an aunt who is a witness.

  she adopted my 2 kids years ago.

  the kids are now 16 and 17 and have been shunned by the kingdom hall because they spoke up and said they do not want to be witnessess.

  Jay - I don't think social workers in the states are the same as in canada. Our social services are overloaded and horrible. I am assuming the kids are here in the states, but i may be wrong. If that is the case and she lives in canada, i would defer to you, because i don't know canada and their laws and/or children and family services assistance programs.

  To me it is like a chess game, you have to figure out what move is best and that will not end the game in a bad way. Either way, the kids should seek counseling of some sort.

  Why The Time Limit?

  hi everyone, it's good to be back.

  last thursday, as i lay on the couch stuffed full of turkey, i had the sudden idea for a discussion, and please forgive me if this has been asked before.. when my brother came back from college and we began to clean the apartment for the impending arrival of the rest of the family for thanksgiving dinner (my mom was of course not calling it that), he asked her why she had so many stacks of watchtower magazines everywhere.

  they were all organized by date in zip lock bags, not including her bound volumes and study books.

  Well someone in Park Ridge, IL does not know that because they are constantly dropping off old mags at my GF's bakery. It may be a local thing. Maybe your mom's elders frown on it, but there is nothing in print regarding it.

  But there is something about mom's and the keeping of the old mags. My mother has become a pack rat and they are all over the place. I tell her that one day I am going to see her on the news and it is going to be about some crazy who refused to throw away old bible literature and when the cops came in they had to dig thru all the mags to find her crushed body under the weight of all those bound volumes and books that were stacked to the ceiling. For some reason she does not find the humor in that, I don't know why?

  Friendship is not about always getting along. The longer you have a friend the more your chances are of having a disagreement, but does not mean you do not love the person or that you are no longer friends with them.

  The thing about friendship is that it is a give and a take. Sometimes we offend and sometimes they offend us. It is the ability to love and move on that allows us to maintain long term friendships.

  Congrats on your anniversary and for your ability to recognize a real friend and maintain that friendship. There is nothing like a brother friend.

  Good time in Kentucky

  well i decided to go to kentucky for thanksgiving at the last minute.

  i had a friend that was supposed to come down this way to visit, but had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency.

  i went and stayed with my relatives (non jw) and ate so much.

  i had one of those "state-of-the-art" or "in" health conditions beginning back in the '70's.

  That would be her. And when people claim to have the same disease as her, she has to out do them as to her sickness being worse than theirs. Very strange indeed!

  No, but my mother is one. She has had every disease known and not known to man. However, she is the first to throw stones when someone says they are sick and cannot make mtgs or go out beating on doors.

  I would go to an atty b/4 I would go to social services. That is an exercise in futility. An atty can give you what the kidz rights are and you can go from there. You may be able to call the local bar association and see if there is any type of free or cheap legal services that they can recommend so as to minimize the legal costs.
