Having different skin colors is the easy part. Having a different cultural background,, that is the extremely hard part.
I totally agree. But what relationship does not have its issues.

i am grateful for the exposure.

i work with a lot of people who are very sexually active.
which should mean they are real happy, right?
after all, isn't sex the best feeling in the world and that is why we have such a strong internal sex drive.
F2B - I think a lot of it has to do with why you are having sex. If people you work w/ are screwed up inside and they are hoping to find happiness thru many sexual partners, then they will continue to be unhappy and messed up. A lot of it has to do with motivation and the root of their depression.
The one thing I know is that I am not going to marry a man w/o having spent a considerable amount of time w/ him and that includes between the sheets. That being said, I have no desire to ever get married. So, I guess that means I will continue to "support having sex out of marriage".

a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.
i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.
It is my understanding that there were many more plaintiffs then were left standing at the end of the action. Of the group, it is further my understanding that some of those people were DA'd (as it was deemed that those who were baptized were choosing to no longer being a JW and thus were DA'ing themselves). The way I understand it, not all plaintiffs were baptized JWs.
i never realized how many of you cared!
i am deeply touched and love you all!
even though i had determined to leave jwd, your warm words and encouragement have inspired me to continue making my insightful, humorous, clever and provocative posts.
And btw- I think it's sort of like when a dog licks himself
Well BFD, I think them are fight'n words ... Mr. Kool Aid, I believe you were just called a "dog" and one that licks himself.
INTERNET FIGHT, INTERNET FIGHT! Hmm, some how a fight via internet just does not seem as much fun. Well looks like I will have to stir up trouble (Kool Aid) else where.
ha!
i just learned that a childhood witness friend, rusty, just passed away.
he was 60 and had suffered from a heart condition for many years.
Let's see ... in our family it was: 1) that my mother would never graduate high school; 2) my mother's children would never graduate high school; 3) my mother's grandchildren would never graduate high school. Wrong on all counts!

Ok, so here is a question - in the commercials or print ads does Kool Aid drink a glass of himself and if so, isn't that a form of cannibalism? I know, I know, it is off the subject, but the print ad made me wonder this? Gregor as Mr. Kool Aid do you know the answer to this?

For the record - a gag order is only in place during the ongoing lawsuit. Once the matter has been resolved, either thru judgment or settlement the gag order is no longer in place. However, if there is a settlement there may be terms of the settlement that stretch beyond the lawsuit. If a person breaches the terms of confidentiality clause as set forth in the settlement agreement, there are consequences and a lawsuit can be brought against the individual who has breached the terms of the agreement. However, only a person who has signed off on the agreement can be held liable. In a lot of cases, a settlement agreement is not filed with the court because the parties do not want it to become public record. However, if the settlement agreement was filed (and not under seal) with the clerk of the court, it becomes public record and can be obtained by anyone who is willing to pay the copying cost.
For those who are not in the world of law, I would like to point some basics out that might allow you to have a broader picture of how the plaintiff/contingency action works. An attorney/law firm incurs all fees and costs til money is awarded or a settlement has been reached. Your staff has to be paid, your bills have to be paid because the gas company does not give a rat's rear-end that you are doing plaintiff's work and you have not been paid. There is no such thing as a sure win. You could have a great case, but a bad plaintiff, one that does not come across well to a jury or one who cannot be controlled and causes problems. Experts cost thousands of dollars and generally charge you one full day for deposition and some charge a whole week for trial (because it disrupts their lives). At the end of the day you have things you have to take into consideration, mostly whether you client can handle a trial and the likelihood of success. It would be very out of character for an attorney to EVER tell a person that they will not settle because a good lawyer would never shut the door to any possibility, settlement or otherwise.
I do think some excellent questions have been posed here. What will the WTBTS do now that they are having to pay out monies. Well we all pretty much guess that the regular JWs will never know exactly what happened because the WTBTS are the gods of spin control.
Will the WTBTS put steps in place to regulate their people more. Since they have no problem telling them that they have to be dressed up even after a convention (and you know there are a ton of dubs that will follow this rule) and that the conductor cannot bring in extra information that he has researched because the WTBTS has researched it all (and again these idiots don't see this as a red flag saying MIND CONTROL MIND CONTROL but will follow this blindly) .... I don't see why these same group of knuckleheads can't come up with some kind of regulation regarding prevs in the hall.
forgive me for starting a new thread - apart from the emerging news about child abuse settlements .
but i simply feel that, for all of us who have suffered persecution from the watchtower society, their.
end may now be in sight.
I am going to sound like a broken record, but .... it is money in v. money out. The latest thing the JWs are being hit hard w/ is leaving all their stuff to the WTBTS. Now think about it, for those members who did not have kids, who else would they leave it to. For those members who have cut off their kids, what is the only way to show mother that you have been listening about shunning people who leave jah, but to cut family out of the will and leave everything to the WTBTS. I truly believe, this religion will live on, it is an evil that cannot be amputated or killed. And for many of us that just means that we will never get our families back.
one of the most recurring problems for those unplugging themselves from the borg is finding new friends and establishing a new support group.
i thought this was a great e-book to overcome that problem.
i really have enjoyed reading it and it has taught me a lot.. .
Honestly don't you think the best way to speak to people is to take an real interest in them? The minute you seem interest and remember some thing a person said and bring it up again, they usually appreciate that and you can go from there.
saturday i photographed a witness wedding .
during the part about the woman's role the speaker made the comment to the new bride ,"don't try to manipulate your husband .....we know how you women can be ...!".
my jaw noticeably dropped and i uddered " what the heck " as i looked around to look for support from other women there,.
Hell it cannot be any worse when my GF went to the elders in her hall to tell them her jw hubby was cheating and their response was "what did you do to cause him to cheat" and then they proceeding to read that scripture about the capable wife to her. So the lovely bride that you mentioned has a life long future ahead of her of being told that she is a loser, a jezebel and incompetent.
And the religion wonders why women leave?!
