Scandal of former Governing Body member
by BrotherChitty ina number of men on the governing body have been bachelors all their life, and are believed by people who worked at headquarters to have been homosexuals.
leo k. greenlees was forced to resign when his homosexuality became public.
he then moved to new orleans.

Or how about the fact that you took the user name (brotherchitty) after someone you claim had a potentially abusive relationship (if it was w/o the alleged 17 year old's consent ... abuse of power). That makes you rather sick ... oh and like everyone else said, some other things that indicate troll activity.
Governing Body member Ewart C. Chitty, was in the middle of a sexual act with a seventeen year old male Bethelite when some unexpected guests arrived and opened the door.

Did you ever go to Brooklyn to visit Bethel?
by JH inwhen i joined back in the mid 80's many in my congregation went to visit the bethel in brooklyn.. for some reason, i had no interest for that.. in the last years that i attended meetings, they didn't organize anything like that anymore.. i wonder why that changed?.

We did a mecca. Almost every year we went. There was a year or to we did not go but that was because we went to a bethel in another country. The upside, my mom paid for the trips and for the oversees ones- it was bethel in an hour and then off to bigger and better things.

Make sure you watch your personal belongings as pick pockets and purse snatching are a huge industry there.
But - it was one of the better places I have been. Architecture is amazing as well as all of the food. They have the most amazing coffee and I miss it to this day. I agree w/ the plan on staying out late cause they do stay out late and eat late. You can rent bike (at least you could about 5 years ago) and take a bike tour. That was really great. On a nice day being able to tour around on a bike. IMHO, skip Olympic village, it was not anything overly interesting. However, there are some nice restaurants around there.
If you know spanish (like in my case, the mexican kind) and you attempt to speak to them, they 1) find it hysterical and 2) seem to really want to go out of their way to help you. We got some of our best suggestions from just talking to people who were sitting around having coffee in a cafe w/ us.
And as for the prior poster that said
Paris walks all over Barca
I don't think so!!!! Paris is second rate to Barcelona!

Let it rip, or hold my tongue? What would you do?
by Confession inthe basic scoop: my best jw friend from michigan came into org with his wife when he was about 26 (he's about 45 now.
) he loved the org, but, aside from being a really cool and interesting guy, he also suffered from depression quite a lot.
more than 10 years ago he approached me about anti-jw stuff he found online.

Best of luck to you, I am sure it is stressful - at least the fantasy of what can go right/wrong with the evening.

Ahhh - as you pointed out to each of us comes our own resolution and approach, hence, what is your friend's. If you are feeling him out so as to not aggro his depression, you never know the other Pandora's box that might open w/o evil intent.
I mean not talking about the WTS is going to be like ignoring the elephant in the living room. What would you do?
So in asking this question, what is YOUR motivation? Because based on your response to my prior post, you have already made up your mind and are not seeking a "what would you do"? So in your mind's eye, how does the mtg w/ the friend play out and what is the end result?
And yes, I am of the "don't ask, don't tell" approach to life - at least when it comes to jw's that is my approach.

What elephant, I don't see no elephant. I say keep ignoring. If you have other things to catch up on, do so. If he brings it up, do what I do and say right now I am at a cross road and am trying to figure things out on my own. Thanks for being concerned though and artfully change the subject.

Faith in angelic help waning? WT March 1 and March 15, 2007
by truthseeker inin the march 1st and march 15th issues of the watchtower, there is a paragraph in the study article about.
the help that angels give in the preaching work.. however, i have noticed something not mentioned before - watchtower uses the phrase "too numerous to be dismissed as coincidence" twice.. quotes are below:.
march 1, 2007 - watchtower.

I agree w/ return, how about the times when jw people needed some angelic assistance but none was there. This is a load of horse dodo.
How about the example that is given at the assembles about the chick was encountered a rapist but he moved on to another victim, when questioned why, he said there were two big guys w/ her and of course that meant angels. Well how about the hundreds of thousands of other jw and non-jws that get raped, does that mean that they do not have jah's spirit w/ them at all times.

A quick question:
by Vinny ini disassociated one year ago.
no meetings, no memorial no nothing since then.
there was one jw young man that talked to me continuously and who also lived right next door, 25 yrs old, a best friend of my step-son, (we all fished on my boat at least a half dozen times together).

A close friend of mine who died had tons of friends, df'd, da'd, inactive and active jws. Everyone showed up for his funeral. It was an amazing thing to see, it showed his family that he was loved and he gave love freely. I feel in some respects it was a "better witness" then the typical jw witness funeral that just consists of the standard R&F and no one else.
My sympathy to you and your step son for your loss of a friend.
