Women and Men....Can they be 'just good friends'........
by fifi40 ini regularly talk to a poster on this board via the pm system...............mainly because i like his mind.......today he suggested in reply to something i had said that basically men and women dont do friendship.........he asked the question 'why do people even bother with each other if they dont fancy each others intimacy?
'...............not that he was suggesting this about us.........but i am just wondering what you lot think.. it has been my experience to have some wonderful men friends...........i love mens company and their conversation..........now i am wondering if all those 'mates' were/are after something else............well not really........i am pretty sure at least some of them arent.. so whats your view/experience.........can men and women just be good friends.. oh and to my friend who i pm.........this is not a criticism of you.........i am interested in what others experiences are..........and i will give you a big kiss (on the cheek) one day when i see ya to make up for it.......... fi.

I think BFD has a good point. Ultimately what we are doing is lumping everyone together, when in reality we need to just say, it depends on the people. Some people (male or female) can have a close relationship with the same/opposite sex without there being anything sexual and some cannot.

I use to reprogram phones so it would show up in french or spanish. I use to set the alarm on a guy's phone and he never knew how to turn it off and it was the most god awful sound. I got clear heavy duty tape and taped phones down or put tape over the mouth piece, so the people could not hear what the other person was saying. I taped all the drawer's to a desk w/ that same clear plastic tape.
But the best prank ever played in our office was not by me ... There are a couple of male attys that prank each other. One day one of the attys was just pushing the buttons of this other guy. So the other guy decided to get even. Annoying guy 1 gets up from his office, so guy 2 goes into the office and puts a red life saver down on the guy's chair, but he licks it so it will be sticky. Guy 1 returns and sits down and then eventually gets up, and what is stuck perfectly to his cream colored khakis, the red life saver. But it is stuck at approximately where his rear-end opening would be. Guy 1 walked around the office for a while, until one of the senior partners said "not that I was checking out your @$$ or anything but did ya know you have a life saver stuck to your @$$". It was hysterical.
And yes, we actually do get work done there!

by Trippin2962 ini've read a number of post here that make the point that as a j-dub a lot of decisions are based on appearances and not real christian love.
if no one really knows about it the elders will sometimes only privately reprove such a person.. this is so wrong!
especially in the case where a woman (girl) gets pregnant.

There was a guy who we called the sperminator because he got a couple of the girls in the hall pregnant and he NEVER got df'd. We found out later how he got away with it. When they called him in to the JC he said 1) she used her body as a weapon against me and I was weak; 2) it happened only once (with at least that girl); and 3) he cried. He told a couple of his guy friends that he could turn the water works on and off at will. He told the guys that if you cry you can get away with anything. Both girls got df'd but he did not! How do you like them apples. Yes, he is long gone from both the religion and his kids' lives. Nice dude!

At work we have a little "game"... If we notice that someone walked away from their desk and left their computer unlocked, we sneak over and start sending "interesting" emails to other people.
We do that too. But for ours we generally will send out a firm wide e-mail that says "I" (the poster who did not lock their computer) brought in food and swing by and help yourself. You would think these people never got food unless it was brought in, because all of a sudden you see lines of people forming at the person's office/desk. We had to lay off for a while, because when the firm really did have food brought in, people thought it was a joke and stopped coming to the firm functions. There are only three of us who do it and it has stayed b/w us, so people still don't know the trouble makers, but they have kind of narrowed it down.

Went to a conference and....

the rooms all had the highest beds i've ever seen.
had to stand on tiptoes and put one side of my rear on the bed and then sort of jump and wiggle up.

Your story sounds like a hidden camera kind of prank. There was a bar that was in our building at work and we would go there for drinks after work. The waiter would bring one drink at a time. So one of the attys I work with use to order 5 drinks at a time, because he figured by the time the game got back around to bringing his next drink he would be done with his first.

Growing up my best friends were boys. They are the ones that helped form my sense of humor. I saw them as brothers and to this day still consider them brothers. I was greatly distressed one day when one of their cousins, who we kind of hung out with but I was not uber close to, told me one day that I had nice ta-ta's. I turned to one of my guy friends and said "what" more like WTF and he said "yeah you do". That really creeped me out. But it showed me that men are very different from women.
I do believe it is possible, but people have to be honest with themselves. If you have any feelings what so ever about the other person, then really you cannot really be friends because you are hoping for more. If you both can really just be friends, then it is really possible.
I continue to gain both males and females to this day and I think it is a good healthy thing. I would never want to only have chicks as friends. It would be very one sided and some times I need a dude to tell me to stop being such a chick.

Racism within the borg

in the majority of pictures, the married couples are only of the same race and none of them are mixed.
i noticed that in other pictures of the so-called paradise, its segerated amongst races too.

While I was in the religion I dated a black brother. And I too saw flashes of racism on both sides. But of all the hatred that I have seen outside the religion (and the worst of it in law firms I have worked at), I don't feel this religion is anything like what I have seen or heard in the work place. I have to say in the religion that was one of the really good qualities. When I show pictures to friends of me when I was a kid they always ask where I was at that I am surrounded by such a mixture of races, generally they are the pics from the congregation picnics that no longer exist. People are always amazed by that, which in turn amazes me.
