Women today fight for `women`s right`s` but are they doing women any favours? As far as i can see, they have just made it harder for them. Now they are expected to have the kids, work full time, clean house, cook, babysit, taxi drive, nurse, etc., i think they have done us a disservice, by trying to be `equal` to men in the workplace. I`ve noticed that career women get to about 35 then start to regret not having babies or settling down, mainly because they havent had the inclination up til then. I am glad that i was `old school` as i was very happy in domestic bliss, having all the time in the world to look after my family and please myself, (that`s til i became a jw) but i still devoted the time to my family, and there is nothing better in life than doing that in my IMO. You can still have your own time for any interests once the jobs are done, admittedly it`s harder as a jw as they expect all your `free time` for service meetings etc.

Disfellowshipping in America- more commonplace
by dido inwhen i was in the states, texas to be accurate, i attended some congs and got to speak to a few people, and i couldn`t believe how many times individuals were d/f, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and they were also married the same times as well, in the so called `truth`.
i did feel that it made a mockery of the `truth` as in england, most people are only d/f once, very rarily twice or more.
i know america is more advanced in many areas, good things and bad, but i was shocked at the ratio out there.

Dansk- i haven`t lived!
bronzefist- that`s typical, the victim always suffers more. Have a mad passionate affair with someone in the cong, and then d/a before they can d/f you.

luna2 -`multiple disfellowshipping` sounds sort of rude doesn`t it? I bet they had a field day with the gossip in those congs!
Dansk- i think it was created by a bunch of old fogeys who were bored stiff and needed some entertainment! I bet your w/t study was interesting!
blondie- i bet there are LOADS of reprovings, we don`t know the half of it. I bet some elders on here could enlighten us about that!

Linda, i agree why would anyone want to go back to that `crap` either, but just always wondered about how it was so different in the states to here regarding that. One of the elders that d/f me had himself been d/f and had climbed back up the ladder, (maybe because his step father was the PO)!

two or three incidents which proved to be some.

When i was on a so-called holiday in Texas, i stayed with a zealous pioneering dominating sister, and she had me out on f/s. Up at the crack of dawn, and at 7 o clock we had to be out (some holiday)! Anyway, we worked in territory which i didn`t know until after, that there were gun toting gangs on the street corners. there were a lot of drive by shootings etc., in the area as well, it was Austin in Texas, also San Antonio. We were working the doors, and i was oblivious to these `kids` as i thought they were, but the sister i was with said casually, `oh, they leave us alone, they know we are witnesses!` I thought, `great` now she tells me!` Was a bit scared, but still carried on and lots of people on the doors `loved `my quaint accent, thanks goodness!

Disbelief that i was sucked in and a wt slave for about 27 years, all told. It seems like a dream now, sometimes i can`t believe that it`s all happened. I lost my family, because of it, there is a trail of messed up lives because of it, my children blame it for messing their heads up, as it has affected them deeply. I was angry, now i am trying to live my life to the full, make up for all the years of control. It is great just to do the little things in life, like a lie in on Sunday, not having to rush around because of meetings f/service etc. It is called getting your life back, but it does take time to rebuild it, but at least you have freedom to do what you want!

Shattered Lives—The Watchtower Trauma and your Healing Process

I think that the healing process has stages. If you were d/f then you feel guilty because you still believe that it was `all true` and you have `sinned`. If you d/a that is a different matter, as you have reasoned over a period of time that it isn`t the `truth`. I can only speak as a d/f person, altho` i wished that i had d/a myself after what i have now learned. First of all i felt `lost` thrown to the wolves, to a world that i had been told that i couldn`t be part of, and there i was, all alone, no jw friends, no worldly friends, totally alone. How cruel is that? It` s like putting someone on an island, after they have lived in a city, and leaving them there to get on and cope. I didn`t realise that there was a world of ex`s out there, i knew that people were d/f all the time, but it didn`t register how many. I suffered on my own for 4 years, finding work, supporting myself and gradually met some`worldly` people, mainly women as that is what my job entailed. I made friends, but they didn`t understand where i was coming from, and only had so much in common with them. Then i got a computer and started to look on there and found a site for ex jw`s in my area. They then told me about sites like this one, altho i never came on here as i thought it was for jw`s not ex`s, until they said it was more for faders and ex`s. Since then i have healed, slowly but surely by educating myself about the wts, and that is what has freed me from their clutches. I also read a few classic exjw books, Cof C, and Diane Wilson, which helped me on my way. Now i know that it is an evil cult that wants to control people`s lives for the benefit of their $ and power hungry individuals, who can`t get it anywhere else, (altho` there are genuine ones). So all i can say to anyone who is in the process of healing is to get an education about the history of the jw`s and that will free and heal you.

Demonism and the Watch Tower, by Roy D. Goodrich. Anyone seen this?
by VM44 inin 1969 roy d. goodrich published a book, "demonism and the watch tower" that contains information about strange electronic medical devices used by "doctors" at brooklyn bethel.. it appears that rutherford himself supported and endorsed the use of these quack electronic devices that also had a tie in with occultic practices and beliefs.. roy goodrich complained so much publicly about these occultic devices being used at bethel that he was disfellowshipped!.
this book today is impossible to find.
has anyone here seen a copy of it?.
