Ian-`the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes on....very tall, long eyelashes, muscular and thin` does that determine a `good looking man`? Apart from that very funny!

Womens Right`s are they Wrong?
by dido inwomen today fight for `women`s right`s` but are they doing women any favours?
as far as i can see, they have just made it harder for them.
now they are expected to have the kids, work full time, clean house, cook, babysit, taxi drive, nurse, etc., i think they have done us a disservice, by trying to be `equal` to men in the workplace.

Insomniac- what is there to be jealous of people that are selfish? Fair enough you can indulge in everything, but there comes a day when that get`s boring, when you`ve done everything, got everything. There is nothing that can place the feeling of holding new life in your arms, that you can watch grow, smile, walk, and who you can love, and who can love you back. I think you are just focussing on the negative things, there are lots of positive ones. Who will come and visit you when you get old? think about it?

Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?
by ESTEE inthis is something i've been mulling over.
just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?
what is your experience with this?

In a way i think that faders are cleverer than d/a`s and d/f`s, but they have to suffer longer by putting in appearances, whereas d/a can cut off easier than d/f, but i think d/a ones think they are better than d/f ones, as they `chose` to leave, whereas the d/f ones `had` to leave. Looking at it from the other side, the wts think that the d/a`s are worse than the d/f ones, as they have turned apostate, whereas the d/f ones have `sinned` or are `weak`.

jaguarbass- can i ask what sort of standard of living are you talking about, how many cars, do they eat out a lot, is a lot of money spent on luxuries that people don`t need, but work for, to the detriment of the kids?

juni- that`s hysterical!
one brother gave a talk and said that we shouldn`t `curry flavour` instead of curry favour`, it made us laugh as he was a strict bethelite, ( who eventually had a fling with a sis in France)

solo- sorry, i didn`t mean it to come across like that, i meant if you are happy without kids, some people are, and fair play to them. I never intended to have any, but they just came along, but was happy that i had them!

solo- if you choose not to have children and be happy, that is your perogative, personally, when i met my husband, i didn`t plan to have kids, so i wasn`t looking for a mealticket, but when i started to have kids, it was an automatic thing for me to look after them and he was quite happy to go to work to support us, he wanted me home and i was happy to stay.
Mary- my mother was the generation that you are talking about, and there was no way she would stay and put up with that. Her family would have made sure she was fine, and so would mine too. I know not everybody has a network to help them, but i still don`t agree with women staying and putting up with that abuse, for whatever reasons.

diamondblue-i have given the example of women that have chosen a career, and have regretted not starting a family earlier. Of course it`s a matter of choice, until children come along, then they should come first.

Mary- if my husband was to turn out to be a paedophile/violent alcaholic or wife beater, there is no way in this world that i would stay with him. I would take my kids and run, that is why a person should get to know your prospective partner before hand, so as to avoid those situations. In England, women don`t have to stay and put up with that sort of treatment, they do get support to leave. I can`t speak for America.
diamondblue- you say what if they `need` to go to work. In the cases that i have seen, most people could manage on one wage, a lot of the time they go because they want luxury`s at the expense of the children being farmed out .
purps- it must have been bery hard to bring up 5 kids and work, can i ask how you ended up having to suport the kids on your own, didn`t you get any help from their father?
Elsewhere- most of us can change diapers blindfolded, and whats so hard about a pole dance?

Disfellowshipping in America- more commonplace
by dido inwhen i was in the states, texas to be accurate, i attended some congs and got to speak to a few people, and i couldn`t believe how many times individuals were d/f, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and they were also married the same times as well, in the so called `truth`.
i did feel that it made a mockery of the `truth` as in england, most people are only d/f once, very rarily twice or more.
i know america is more advanced in many areas, good things and bad, but i was shocked at the ratio out there.
