The body is disposable it's the person inside that is important.
When you think of it our body changes every 7 years through shedding cells etc.
I believe that regardless of what type of resurrection a person undergoes, into a spirit body or a physical one, neither is the exact same one we had before. Does it even matter? As long as we are remembered in God's eyes or memory.
Yeah, I believe we live again.

IT IS EASIER TO LEAVE JWS IF NONE OF YOUR FAMILY ARE JWS
by steve2 inone of the biggest - if not the biggest barriers - to leaving the organization is family ties - particularly immediate family (i.e., those living in your household: sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, mother-in-laws, father-in-laws).
i know of no bigger barrier.
therefore, it's relatively easy to predict who will face the most adversity in trying to leave.

The only person I had to contend with when exiting was myself. That was 2 decades ago. Went back and forth also but have now completely left.
I couln'nt imagine anything worse than leaving my family members and even with just myself I felt disloyal. It has taken years to overcome - guess it went deep.

What's your opinion on genetic engineering?
by LtCmd.Lore inare you opposed to it?
where do you see it heading?.
would you allow your future child to be genetically altered if you knew it would drastically improve them?

I have to go a bit further and voice my concern about scientists turning mad and producing a strange breed made up of half man and half animal.
Currently in stem cell research there is a combining of human and animal genetics and I read somewhere recently of tissue taken from dead persons instead of human embryos to overcome ethical objections.
Remember Frankenstein.

As we grow older
by greendawn inas time passes and you grow older and more mature how does your life or your outlook on life and one or other issue change?
i was thinking yesterday how silly it was to fall in love with a girl, focus exclusively on her and run the risk of serious disappointment and trauma if she left when there were so many other women in the world.
when you had no marriage or children to worry about.

'No being overly attached to the wrong people or things is what results in heartache.'
Problem: Sometimes ones own adult child/children can bring on the heartache in life - more difficult to de-attach.

Things YOU eat, that other people think is weird.
by misanthropic inthis mornings events have got me thinking about things.
i love peanut butter, not the sweet kind but i like the old fashioned peanut butter, usually laura scudder's with no sugar or preservatives - it just tastes better imo.
i put it on everything including pancakes which are really good with peanut butter and maple syrup.

misanthropic,
'I don't think you can even get it in the US though or even order it online.'
You are right on. Vegemite contains folate and US forbids this product (folate) unless it's prescribed by a doctor.
Glad it has'nt happened over here.

Magdalenefan welcome,
It is a lonely road after a divorce or going thru one and being at the KH doesn't help with all those cosy couples happy or unhappy. It tends to make the pain worse. If you find the new church helps you feel better go for it. Best thing is not to feel you have to turn up each time.
Take it easy on yourself until you feel stronger.

Nothing beats Vegemite.
Grilled slices of tasty cheese melted over toast with Vegemite. I hear that it's not to the taste of American people. Too strong and yeasty. Over here it's an everyday snack any time of day.

Are you a 'Life is Over-rated' or a 'life is what you make it' type person?
by needproof ini was wondering who out there is a 'life is what you make it' type person.
i must admit that i am a 'life is over-rated' type.
i don't wish to sound negative but how can you say to a kid born in war torn sudan 'oh, get over it... life is what you make it!'.

'What life is there for anybody living below the rate of living?'
Life then becomes a mere existence. One steps out each day to see what's in the letterbox.

Dreamer,
Welcome, here you will find friends to give support.
Your words "they took away my life" well, no one has that power. Don't give it to them. Take time to get your life under your own control.
Also the title 'New and SAD'. Please dont allow yourself to become OLD and sad while you are considering your future.

Apostates do you still read Watchtower literature? And if so Why do you?
by booker-t ini was just wondering how many ex-jws still read wt literature and if so why.
i have noticed alot of posters here know what the lastest wt or awake magazines are talking about and i was just wondering why do you bother to read that stuff since you left the wt?

I still read them at times. Their 'back-peddling' on certain prophecies/beliefs are enlightening to say the least.
Old habits die hard.
