  What Did You Hate About The Circuit OV.'s Visit?

  i think that there a number of things about the circuit overseer's visit that stinks!

  one thing that i hated was how all the elders got together to "shepherd" the flock right before the co's visit.....what bothered you about the week long visit??

  i know there are soo many new people on this board in the past year or so, and i haven't been posting a whole lot lately i've been busy with school and what not, but i did want to kind of give a bit of an update and hopefully some encouragement for those that are in the process of leaving the borg, and have left friends and family behind.

  i had the misfortune of looking through the june 8 2002 awake, and stumbled across an article on hawaiian luahas (pardon my spelling as i don't have it here in front of me).

  the footnote said something along the lines of it originating with false religion, but now it's just considered a banquet, so many christians participate with a clean conscience.. wait a minute!.

  what ever happened to "if it had pagan origins it's bad"?

  Who believes in Ghosts?

  i watched a movie on tv the other night called "the others" with nicole kidman.

  it got me thinking about ghosts.

  of course, my jw thinking automatically kicks in and tells me that its.........come on, you all know the answer.......demons.

  I absolutely believe in ghosts. I lived with one in the house I grew up in. When I look back at it, it was scary. There is no way I would live with one now. But then I had no choice. My whole family saw it, heard it. There is no doubt. It is funny, with all the speculation there is on this board, whether there is a God or not, etc, this is one thing that I know exists. I was there, I saw it.

  It never harmed us in any physical way, but it was there. It was able to go through doors and walls, and even though it appeared to float along instead of walking, you could hear it walk up stairs and around the second story of our home.

  It was real, and for those who don't believe, I don't know what to tell you. I guess for some you must see to believe. Not to blame you, for had I not seen with my own eyes, many many times, I would be doubtful too.

  what a great feeling!!

  with the witch hunts from the crotchtower coming early next year there was no way i was going to let those toilet scrubbing, window washing, gas pumping, cheese and cracker men ,have the satisfaction of trying to hunt me down, and than tossing me out on their terms.

  the letter telling them i want no part of their mind numbing cult , is in the mail as of last night around 2am.

  met with mayor .

  during his campaign for mayor, jack ellis promised that his office would always be open for the citizens of macon.

  so, on dec. 17, a spiritual brother and i, both jehovah's witnesses, called on the mayor to present an important article in our magazine that contained a recent landmark decision by the u.s. supreme court that gives us and others a legal right to visit the homes of the people to express our views.

  Did you raise your kids as witnesses?

  my mom raised us as witnesses, and finally left the wts after we grew up and left the house.

  my dad left after too.

  now my mom is so sorry about it all, and how we had to live, with my father an elder, the strictness, and of course all the things that a good witness family could not do.. how many of you raised your kids as witnesses?

  My ex-wife and I divorced when my son was young. She still raises him as a witness, and it is hard to see him to have to go through the same crap. We live far away, so it is hard to impliment the good unWitness values I have learned. Curious as how others handled it all.

  Who likes winter?

  well, today is the first day of winter.

  winter here in canada is cold and long.

  we have about 4 to 5 months of damn snow every year.

  Here in southern California we have one season year long.

  The last week or so though leaves a lot to be desired. I do enjoy the snow, to visit. Don't like it getting dark so early. Springtime is probably my favorite.

  How weird is this?

  as many of you know, i'm divorced, have been for 2 years now, after a 13 year marriage.

  my ex and i get along pretty well, we're friends of a sort, and we have our kids' well being as our main priority in life.

  that's not the weird part..well, i suppose in some ways it is, but that may be a story for another post!.

  Having gone through a horrible divorce years ago, it is refreshing to hear a story of two divorced people getting along. How much easier that has got to be than with all the fighting that sometimes continues afterwards.
