Never ending JWism.....AAAgh!
by Gill indid you , when you were a 'proper' jw, or even a jw of any description, believe that after armageddon you wouldn't have to go to the meetings and out on field service anymore?
surely, after armageddon the control and work from jehovah would get even greater and the nightmare of being a jw would truly never end.. do you get my drift or have i had too much merlot?.
i ask this because my father told me that 'they' needed all these new khs for when the dead are resurrected and they have to look after them and study with them.

i remember a whole lotta friday nights spent at the hall having the "same old same old" drilled into my skull, listening for something they could never say, waiting for something that would never come, wondering where the spirit of life and light and love was that i so longed to tap into... or sometimes just wishing i could be out walking under the stars or be home watching a crappy tv show.
so tonight i am thankful i am free to do with my friday nights (and all my days and nights) what i will, free of guilt and anxiety and spiritual starvation, and i am here enjoying good company while sporadically playing hide and seek with my young daughter who would be thankful that she is not required to sit down and shut up for long, meaningless blocks of time if she had ever been exposed to it, and i'm thankful she hasn't.. what about you?

As we all know, witnesses cannot celebrate birthdays. In Katherine Jacksons mind, she justified the presents as long as they were not wrapped and presented as a "birthday gift."
Money and fame change things, and Michaels mom is not immune to that.
But, for all we know, the elders had a chat with her about it.

What is the next flash of New Light?
by Pole ini personally feel they will have to "adjust" the fds doctrine.
the tricky thing is that the fds (whoever they are) won't approve this change while they're still alive.
they don't care, they subconsciously feel it's their end anyway and they won't undermine their doctrinal position having lost all corporate power.. so who will send this beam of new light?

Having a hard time leaving? Here's what worked for me:
by marked inmoving.. move away from the situation, if at all possible.
have a job offer in another state/province/country?
need to go to school elsewhere?

Yes, I agree, moving works. It worked for me, though I am still in the general area. But I am 500 miles away from where I spent 18 years of my life in a congregation where everyone knew me.
For some, of course, moving is unrealistic. But for those who can, and want a change of pace anyways, it is great. You can do whatever you want, without having to worry that someone will "catch you" and you won't have to worry about being df'd.

being a member of an organization
by sun_dae indoes anyone need to become a member of a religious organization to have access to the "truth"?
i mean, i never did know anything about the bible haven't a jw knocked my door.
it's only when i've had my regular study that i became interested with digging the truth.

If one reads the bible, it clearly states that what is important is a relationship with God and Jesus.
When you get too many people together with an agenda, it becomes their views, not God's.

coming from the uk it is astonishing to me that an affluent nation as is the us, cannot provide better protection for the health and welfare of its citizens.
i was especially astonished by the fact that insurance companies withdraw their coverage while a person is sick and in need of help.

I would be in favor of some sort of medical plan for all citizens of the United States.
So, where do we get the money from?
My suggestion is we start with the money that we
loangive to foreign countries that eagerly take our money but don't really give a rats ass about us anyway.That money could easily supplement what is actually needed in order to have a decent health care program.
