when you bump into a jw who you've known previously, do you still feel any connection at all?.
i seem to be a magnet for them at local supermarkets, i always stop and chat and can't help still feeling such a connection with them.
they were my "brothers and sisters" after all.
For many of us, we have spent many years, if not most of our life with these people. We would see them several times a week, so it would be hard not to establish bonds with them.
It is so sad that the WTS teaches complete alliegence to their beliefs, to the point of kicking out anyone who doesn't agree.

i became a jdub at the age of 16. i had a child out-of-wedlock who was 1 year old at the time and i was searching for answers - i wanted my son to have a future and the one the witnesses portrayed was better than anything i'd ever heard!

just a little background, my cousin is 38 and hasn't attended meetings for nearly 20 years.
then, a week later, another elder and the circuit overseer came knocking for the same reason, so she decided to go to the thursday night meeting.
then on sunday, she went for the talk, and was told she had an elder's meeting at 12:30 that afternoon.
It is just better sometimes to avoid these people, then try to have to answer their questions, etc.
if a pill or some treatment was developed to allow you to live to 200 - what would you do with the rest of your life?.
let's just say that you started to get old around 175. you're in your 50s.
would you work longer, enjoy life, help a needy cause or travel?.
There is so much that could be done.
Though I would only do it if my loved ones could do the same.
time to swallow the red pill.. right now both books remain unopened - sealed in the amazon.com box buried in a backpack in the trunk of my car.
i feel like i'm smuggling drugs or something.. i'll be starting coc tomorrow ... .
this is more of a vanity post than anything.
Reading those books will put a new meaning to the phrase "and the Truth will set you free!"
have you ever met someone and for some unknown reason this person just rubs you the wrong way ,i don't know if it's a vibe they give off or what but something that makes you dislike about that person.
my son who is 21 started to date this girl and there is something about her i so much dislike and i can't help the way i feel.
i have 4 grown kids all have dated and brought there dates home and i was receptive to them all but i cannot to this girl.
First impressions count, regardless of how or why.
Some of the "new age" people believe that everyone produces physical vibes, and the body can tell these, even if we are not quite as aware.
i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.
i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.
are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.
I was raised a witness, became less active when I moved away at 18, then moved a thousand miles away in the other direction, and faded more. Completely faded about 9 years ago.
I could not believe that God would destroy good people on earth who worship him, but just were not witnesses. Started to learn more of the real truth of the WTS, and now am firmly convinced that they are not the one true religion.

in the end i decided i'd rather be a rock star.
better parties, and definitely more of a bad boy image.
I love music, and I can sing, so I would have to go with rock star. Though acting I would love as well.

I have never heard witnesses use the phrase "love you" any different than anyone else would use it. Maybe this guy actually cares for you.
