What is Jacko's status as a JW????
by mrd83 ini know he was raised as a witness and he wrote the apology letter(which was published in the watchtower) as well as giving the wts a boatload of money($$$millions$$$) over the fallout of his thriller album.
recently he proclaimed his faith in jehovah as if he is still a jw and his father who kicked the crap out of his kids(requisite to raising a fine jw family) as well as his mother are attending court.
what is this guys status??

Watchtower and Awake in the waiting room
by kj ini found a couple of nice wt and awake magazines in the waiting room at work today.
i decided to dress them up with some flourescent green labels with the freeminds.org, silentlambs.org, and quotes' website.
hope the jw who left them will come back and check them out .

I like the idea of the stickers, or references to good anti-witness websites.
The general public needs to know that the WTS is a powerful, destructive cult and should be avoided at all costs.

Relationship with God
by Carmel inon another thread someone defined spirituality as your relationship with god.
i would contend that anyone that thinks he/she has a "relationship" with the deity is fooling themselves.
first, you can't imagine an unknowable essence and second, if you try you are dilusional.. any thoughts?.

I think to each their own. I don't have to justify my faith to anyone.
I will not judge others for what they do or don't believe.

Mine was when I was giving the prayer before field service, and out of nowhere I started praying to Jesus instead of Jehovah!

Is there a slowdown in congregation get togethers?
by truthseeker ini was just reading thelisteners post from an earlier thread, and it got me thinking just how little time dubs have to associate togther.. it seems to be more and more the fact, that the only time dubs see each other to "associate" - if you can even call it that - is at meetings and conventions.. even at conventions though, the dubs are told not to go outside for lunch, regardless of whether it is a nice day of not.
(note, this may not be true at all conventions).
where is a jehovah's witness supposed to get this period of refreshment so he can do more?

When I was growing up, once or twice a year for several years they had a congregation picnic. As a kid, I so looked forward to those. But, they became less frequent, and now, I don't think they even do it.
I attended 3 other congregations in my young adulthood, and I never heard of any large get together.

Sad that most witnesses will read that and not even question it.

Update -- wife given permission new union without my permission
by belu insince my last post i found out that my wife lied to get a "vow of faithfullness with another man.
in march of 2004 she asked me to sign an agreement document to give to a lawyer in order to get our marriage annulled.
i agreed only on her promise not to give it to the congregation to be with another man but only for her lawyer.

My ex wife wanted to get remarried. Long story short, she told lies about me. Now, in reality, I don't care what she does, but I did not like being lied about. So I contacted her PO and her book study conductor.
They flat out told me, that though there was no proof whatsoever, simply the fact that I was inactive, and she was, they would take her side every time.
As far as they were concerned, she was free to marry in the hall.
The bottom line is, people are going to do what they want, when they want, and to whom they want, and there is nothing we can do about it.

when you were babtized and dedicated did you feel a void?
by swiftbreeze inthis has always troubled me:.
i was studying to be babtized although i was raised around the "truth" i still had to have an official study.
so i was taught that i had to go to jehovah in prayer stating my desire to be dedicated and babtized.

I just wanted to get it over with. Never was in my heart, to be baptized as a witness. But back then, I was getting married, and in order to get married in the hall and with everyones blessing, I had to be baptized first.
