NASA: Humans Back to the Moon
by Gerard innasa plans return to moon by 2020
"this vision aims to return humans to the moon, and then to use it as a staging point for a manned mission to mars.
i wonder if jws will be required to canvas those areas too.

I, for one, would love to see us go back to the moon. I wasn't aware of what was happening the first time around.

What was Jesus implying...........................
by defd inat john 10:30 jesus said " i and the father are one" what was he implying?
was it a claim to be almighty god?
what is your thoughts and why?

From what I have read, and after talking to pastors, and such, it seems as though Jesus is God, though not in the sense that we immediately think of.
The easiest way it has been described to me is that God is more of a title, with 3 parts to it, the Holy Ghost, Jesus, and the Father.
Regardless of the details, I am just fine with not knowing all the answers. If I don't understand it, fine, perhaps one day I will.

Hiring a JW or not?
by fairchild ini work with about 30 guys who fail to realize that one can actually hold a conversation without swear words and still make sense.
it doesn't happen that way.
the words they use frequently make the f-word look like a polished piece of vocabulary.. now, about 4 months ago, the son of a jw family in good standing applied for a job there.

Sounds to me like this place is prime for a lawsuit for the working conditions. For this young witness to work there would ever more confirm in his mind how horrible "the world" is.

What if "KOOL-AID" was offered?
by horrible life inon the thread about a special talk, kid-a asked this question.honesty.... are you sure they wont be serving kool-aid???
it got me to thinking.
how many do you think would partake?
-
freedom96
There might be a very few that would take the kool-aid. I don't think in this day and age that 6 million witnesses would even consider it.

Are birthdays now a "conscience matter" for JWs?
by Elsewhere ina few months ago my jw sister emailed me out of the blue asking for me to suggest a good telescope for her little girl (about 12, but i'm not sure).
my niece has had a strong interest in science since she was very little and my sister is trying to encourage her.
if you are wondering, yes, my sister and her jw husband do shun me... so basically she got the info she needed and then disappeared again.

There is absolutely no question that if someone celebrated their own or someone else's birthday in the congregations I have attended, that it would be the end of them. DF'd in a second.
My in-laws, still very active witnesses, will send my wife a generic card around the time of her birthday, and make a comment about how she remembers the day she was born, and how special she is to her.

Are you honest when you say your age?
by JH ini know people who don't say their real age, like take off 2 or 3 years.... my mom looks younger than her age, so she sometimes took off a few years.
gee, i'm just the opposite, i rather say my real age, and wait for a compliment saying "hey you look good for your age".
how about you, do you ever lie on your age?

Always say it the way it is.

JWs and Lawsuits
by Jeannine inanother jw thing that boggles my mind...... my mother-in-law, a super-jw, was crossing the street when she was hit by a car.
she was fortunate enough to sustain very minor injury (bruises and maybe a minor sprain or two).
i would describe the accident as very minor.

I agree, many witnesses are totally two faced. They will justify their actions, whatever they are. Perhaps they would sue because they have little or no other way to make money, as so many are uneducated, and don't have much going for themselves financially. Or, could be they are just miserable people to begin with.
My ex wife seems to be in a constant state of filing lawsuits, but she is a miserable person to begin with, and feels everyone is out to get her and do her wrong, and therefore they should be punished financially.

I purchased a study bible, and so when I read it, I get much more out of it. Like the real truth, not the changed WTS version.

I don't think JW's are more prone to starting lawsuits any more than anyone else. People are people, and if it in their nature to sue, then they will regardless of what religion they are.
