Barb Anderson & Linda Jahn interviewed on Mark Furman Show, Spokane, WA
by AndersonsInfo inthought you'd like to know that today at 11 am pacific standard time, which was 1 pm tennessee time, i was interviewed for an entire hour by mark furman on 1510 kga, the big talker show, originating in spokane, wa, population 250,000. former jw, linda jahn, was interviewed from 12:00 to 1 pm.
all this attention to our cause originated from the disfellowshipping and shunning of joel jahn in davenport, wa, a few months back.
at that time joel wrote a letter to the local davenport newspaper explaining the wt disfellowshipping policy used against him because he spoke out against the religion's child abuse policies.

They all have that carrot hanging in front of them. After some point, perhaps different for all, it is going to be a burden to keep pursuing that carrot.

Reminds me of a scripture that the JW's never talk about, where, in a nutshell, Jesus tells his disciples, If you are not against me, then you are for me.
Doesn't matter what religion, as long as you live as you should.

When asked how you are doing after a long absence, most expect to hear that you are not doing well. I always responded that I was doing great.
Funny, I have mentioned before, but I saw some old friends a few months ago. Their son, now 17, asked how I was doing, and we had a great conversation. He then asked me, so sincerely, how I was doing spiritually. I responded, "Great! Never better!" He looked very happy and asked if I had been going to the meetings. With the smile still on my face, I replied "No, it has been quite a while!"
The look on his face then was priceless!

by Cady inso i finally decided to get my a** to the library and read some real research on cults.
the book i'm starting with is "psychodynamic perspectives on religion, sect and cult.
in the introduction they mention margaret thaler singer's definition of a destructive cult as an organization in which:a leader claims divinity or special relationship with god.

I believe the JW's to be a dangerous cult, but I don't believe that everyone would drink the "kool-aid" like in a Jim Jones type of deal.

I have been to a few churches, spoken to a few ministers and pastors, and they all agreed the normal used pronounciation is Jehovah, though no one uses it.
Witnesses are the ones who get all hung up about it.

We don't call a judge by his first name, or most people in a position of authority. Your honor, sir, etc is more appropriate. Can it possibly be anything less than when talking about God? I find using his name not appropriate, and disrespectful.
For me, Lord, God, etc works just fine.

CHEATING ON FIELD SERVICE
by chuckyy intowards the end of my time as a jw, i must confess to cheating whilst out on field service.. 1. i would turn up at the field service arrangement with my wife, and we would say that we were working together that day to do return visits.
as everyone went out, we would simply get into our car and drive home.
(hypocritical i know).

A friend of mine was aux-pioneering the summer month when we were 17 and his parents were out on a month long trip across the US. I would hang out with him real late most nights, and there were a few times that we would wake up just in time for the meeting for field service at his house, and when everyone left with their assignments, we would simply go back to sleep.

Do you think that Armaggeddon is "near" or many, many years away?
by booker-t ini am 40 years old and i have been hearing the same old song by jw's "armaggeddon is around the corner" since i was a toddler.
it has to come to their minds that how long are they going to keep saying that armaggeddon is "near" or "around the corner"?
or they eventually going to quit believing in this fantasy and look at reality?

I have no idea when it may come. So I can't spend my life worrying about it. Simple as that.
