By the way, here in an interesting link that is about Johannes Greber and a comparison is made to Judge Rutherford who the author of the article believes was also a spirit medium

How long did it take you to get over it?
by AK - Jeff inone of the posters here - before i knew she was a poster here - in fact before i knew of this site at all, sent me an email early on in my exit.
she likened the whole leaving thing with grieving over a dead loved one - said it took most about two years to work thru all the phases of that loss - denial, anger, etc.. i think she had it about right - that's about how long it took me.
but without jwd it would have been longer.

It took me about a year while on the inside to prepare to leave. That is because of my hubby and kids. Once we all were out, it took only a few months for us to decompress and feel better. We came out around the same time and don't have any other family in so I think that helps. But it has taken me almost two years to really build up a new belief system and in some ways, it is still a work in progress. The biggest blessing is none of us totally lost our faith in God and Jesus. I hear that is rare with whole families.

I went into the org. in 1992. I got the KIT from an elder in 2002. At that time when I saw it in his home, he told me it was out of print. But, he had another copy. I am going by what that elder said that you cannot order it anylonger. But if you know someone at Bethel, maybe you can get it. He could be mistaken though. If you get a chance and want to do it, I recommend comparing to the NT in the NWT.
I don't use the NWT any more but I have one so I can show active Witnesses how it was tampered with. Any bible that deliberately changes 200 verses to back up their teachings is one I cannot trust. Plus in my own opinion, it always read kind of sterile and unfeeling. Some of the words did not really convey the emotion they should have and flowed badly.
I grew up reading the King James and because I am used to it, and I love Poetry, I love it. But for many, it is hard to read. My hubby hates it. But I usually use the NIV for study and another favorite of mine is the Ferrar Fenton bible. This one is really easy to understand and is a very good translation. Also, I recommend going to www.biblegateway.com to compare other bibles translations. They have good commentaries too. I go there sometimes but for me, there is nothing like the feel of the bible in my hand. I have many translations but the KJ, NIV, and Fenton are my favs.

Not even close. The only love they show, and it is still very pitiful attempt at it, is totally conditional! Your many years of service mean absolutely nothing if you are in a time of need or have to slow down in your works. The WT should coin the term "what have you done for me lately?", because this is exactly how they treat people.

I wouldn't even engage JW, he or she is obviously counting time trying to witness to us apostates. JW, did you ever tell us why you have decided not to obey the "faithful discreet slave" class and are on an apostate site?

mediator thoughts
by candidlynuts inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/112163/1.ashx
amazing1914's thread above talks about several things, one being saints and how the catholic church reasons that its ok to pray to them.
i didnt want to hijack his thread with my rambling thoughts... the reasoning sounds eerily like how the wtbs explains how the fds is the great crowds mediator instead of jesus.. specifically this passage in the thread above..the watchtower, and many fundamentalist protestant groups, equate communication to saints as asking jesus to mediate for us.

I would like to point out that having communion with the saints has nothing to do with praying to them when they die. No where in the bible does it say you can pray to anyone other than God or Jesus. I just want to make that point clear. The early church father mentioned above had an agenda for pushing the Catholic faith and ways of doing things These rules he is trying to establish has no bearing on anyone outside of the Catholic faith. Just like the WTs rules are specific to them and do not affect anyone else, same thing here. Although each claim they are the only true church, and try to set up rules and regulations on how to do things that they want Christians to abide by. Christ established the true church at Pentecost by pouring out Holy Spirit on believers. This is the arrangement today too. All true believers are given Holy Spirit which unites them together, there is no need for a centralized body to give them rules and doctrine and there is no need for a building. As long as they follow the very simple principles that Christ and the Apostles laid out in the NT, they are approved as a church by God. They may visit any church they wish for fellowship or worship at home. It does not matter. But they do not come under any rules of any particular organization because Christ set them all free from that. The true church refers to the body of believers in Christ. It is that simple. So the above statement about needed a Bishop for communion or any other reason is not true. Christians can partake of communion at home if they so disired and the Lord would find it just as acceptable. There are some similarities between the JWs and the Catholic religion. Here is an interesting link about this:

JW,
is it wrong in the same way that it is wrong for you, an active JW to be on an apostate site like this one?
