  I was sexually abused

  i was sexually abused as a child and the witness's accepted it and helped me granted they didn't go into depth about it with me but they do not cover it up they just dont like things publicized not every rape or sexual abuse is put on the news so why should a witness being raped be put on the news they are private people why not let it be

  I'm glad that you were fortuanate to have someone help you.

  I did not have that luxury as a child....(2 Witness Rule). Everything physical & sexual was covered up and it's been difficult dealing with it through my life.

  In fact, a lot of us have had to hold it in and I'm glad that I found this discussion forum because this is REAL support for people in our situations.

  i had known him for thirty five years, he was part of our r/c flying group.

  he was 81 years old.

  i hope i have 10 more years to go flying my r/c planes.. ken p..

  What do you think the JWs will be doing on the 4th of July?

  tomorrow i plan on sleeping in late and then go to a cookout.

  during a day where it seems that most people will be in the yards cooking on the grill, i wonder if more jws will go out in service; and if offered a hotdog will they accept it?.

  Just got back from the Public Talk/WT study......very disappointed

  so i finally went back to the sunday meeting after missing it for over a month.

  i've been to the tms/service meeting a couple of weeks ago by the way, but i've consistently missed the one for sunday.. i dreaded going, but i think i will go to the sunday meetings every couple of weeks for a while.

  between my dad and another factor, i think it will be best to go that route for a while.

  That was such a good eye opener and made me feel good that I no longer believe that way. Live now and do as much as you can NOW. And to think that so many fall for that crap and do nothing with their pathetic lives.

  one of my workmates just asked or stated...why did eve have to have a rib from adam and all of the the other animals were just created?

  i noticed another thread on this site relaying a stupid e mail making the rounds of dubdom.. well i just got this one and i thought i would share.... powerful illustration.

  after the prayer, the local elder slowly stood up, walked up to the.

  platform and, before he gave his public talk, he briefly introduced a guest.

  I used to get lots of JW emails and every one of them were proven false on snopes.com...if only the JW's sending these messages would take the time to research. I wanted to tell them but didn't want to embarrass them. It was actually entertaining because a lot of them think they have the latest news and that makes them feel superior or something. Dummies...

  what was the strangest/worst counsel you recieved from elders ?

  having been in the organization for 30 years, after i got out i reflected on this.

  as a teenager i was told to not let my hair grow over my ears because i might stumble other young ones in the congregation.

  also, in order to carry the microphones i was told i couldn't wear white socks, had to wear black or dark blue socks.

  My sister was told that she was not allowed to dye her hair blonde because it would stumble others...she is a woman of color...how many other sisters dyed their hair on a regular basis?
