I used to practice Northern Praying Mantis Kung-fu all the time, I have kids now. I do attend some of the time, at one point I reached the 5th level at a point which is AKA disciple level. I just started riding my bike to work, it is about 4 miles with a couple hills between here and there.

personally, im into bodybuilding since a couple of months and i love it !
im eating cleaner than ever (but not as i would like) and exercise 4 days a week.

I maried some nut at age 21 and she maried some guy about a year later. Both of those mariages ended in divorce. It is strange, I still miss her and it has been about 15 years. If you know her or see her tell her Louie says hi, happily married with two beutiful children and a wife that is to DIE for. All these year I really have wanted to call her mom and ask where she was but her mom would hang up.

High School Graduation

it wasn't even a consideration, either.. heck... i wasn't allowed to go to senior 'honors' night - where i was elected to receive some sort of recognition.

I went to 7 high schools by mid Junior year. My last school, I was in for 1 month when I decided to take the GED and get out. The JW religion is directly responsible for my education issues and the fact that I have no graduating class, no re-union to goto, no friends that go back past 20's.

You bring up great points. I am a newbie here and have been cautious about sounding like a sympathizer, that is how many here come accross and I am sure has scared many who would consider looking around and discussing intellegently with others. This is one place where people actually understand what you mean when you say that you do not know your brothers birth date. This is therapy for me, probably many others, and many more to come, let them come and be able to vent with others who do understand.

greetings from another newbie
by lost_sheep inwell... i've finally worked up the courage to get an account & start posting on this site.
i've been lurking for a couple of months now, voraciously reading all the, mmm, "delightful words of truth" i've found here.
i'm currently deep in dubdom, so i have to be pretty ambiguous about some personal details, (i'm really paranoid, hopefully that will pass :-/) but my story in a nutshell is: i was born into this religion, baptised in my mid teens, happily married to a wonderful (& thankfully, somewhat open-minded) jw lady, & now, several years later, i'm starting to seriously question some of what i believe.

I am 15+ years out, DF'd on my own accord, I would never go back however there is that damned voice in the back of my mind saying what if I make god mad at me doing this or that. That same voice says stuff like "Am I an Apostate?" I suppose the only reason I care is because of my mom and our relationship, if I was somehow labeled as an Apostate that would certainly end my communication with my mom. I know many of you are saying, sooo.. She doesn't really care for you letting the whole DF thing break up your family. Suppose It's going to take some more time to shutdown all the dumb voices.

the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".

Oh I am sure! Although I only know of one time for a fact. They didn't need to work to hard, my father (Bi-Polar) a recognized JW made the paper for dragging a dog, mother ended up with braken body parts, bruises and the like. Even with dad out of the mix being a broken family was enough to fuel a fire.

Did anyone experience that feeling at the end of assemblies, or C/O visits?
by dido ini`m new on here so don`t know if this subject has been covered, but i was wondering if anyone else experienced that overwhelming feeling at the end of assemblies, or when the c/o visited and gave his talk, there was a different feeling in the air, and i always thought it was `jehovah`s spirit`.
now i`m out and have learnt a lot about the borg, and know all their dastardly deeds, i can`t understand what that feeling was.
it can`t have been his spirit, as i don`t believe now that the borg is the `truth`.

I was told to meet with them, they would have taken me back, I chose to do a no show, I wanted the big DF!!!! I got it and couldn't be happier, other than the loss of one friend and a number of family members.
