My mom has one next to her phone. I guess it's to remind her of her real family of spiritual brothers and sisters. Funny... non of her non-Witness kids get any calls from her.

for some reason (read they are afraid that exiting jws will use them to "stumble" other bros.) my new congo will not issue the normal member list with names, addies, numbers and congo appointments; the same list that everyone uses to call their jw buddies over for a booze party.. i was switched to this new congo two or so years ago and since have heard of two other congos that have stopped distributing lists.
since i have only inquired of two congoes, i ass-ume that the distribution of "friends" personal info is now forbidden?.
please comment all you current members/faders.

district conventions.
the reality of the matter was that it probably was more than one.. .
Oh big deal. So a few people die during a convention. The only real concern is how much of their will was dedicated to furthering the kingdom work. Besides, shouldn't we focus more on how much cleaner the facility was when we left it? Now that's something worthy of announcing and praying about.

Unbelievable. Sick. Sad.

let me preface this by saying how much i enjoy learning.
i read constantly.
but as for "personal study", i did my best... i forced myself, but could never get into it.
I'd get bored and sleepy.
Ha! True! On second thought it was the perfect cure for insomnia.

i would like to get some honest answers about your position on blood transfusion.
as we get older, sooner or later we wind up in the hospital and the question they always ask is"...in the event.. would you accept blood?
" faced with that question, i answered no.
Great question. For me it is the "final frontier" in breaking myself from JW dogma. I really couldn't answer that for myself until I am in that situation. Were it my wife or someone else close to me and I thought it could save their life, yes, yes and YES. I don't know why this is the one thing that pricks me in the back of my brain. It's something wholly constructed by that opportunistic, homophobic, misogynistic zealot Paul who completely negated Jesus fulfilling the law and reinstituted a Pharisaic structure to worship with a Hellenistic spin. I'm sure I've had enough rare steaks in my life to completely damn me forever by the WTBS. Sorry for the rant.... don't know why I still have an issue with this.

after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.
i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.
LT,
All I can say is WOW. My wife and I just sat and listened to your talk. Although I don't count myself a Christian anymore, I am truly inspired by your honesty and conviction.
Thank you.

you surely noticed that the jw's have an answer to everything.. question: my dad died.
jw answer: he will probably resurrect .
question: i don't feel well.
Question: Why is it called self abuse if I am completely consenting and actually enjoy it?
Answer: This may require a J.C. Come to the B school and tell us every detail.

Let me preface this by saying how much I enjoy learning. I read constantly. But as for "personal study", I did my best... I forced myself, but could never get into it. I would read the quoted scriptures, try to figure out how they applied, even cross referenced them, but usually it would lead me on a big goose chase ending with eyebrows raised and jaw dropped as it inevitably led to something either completely nonsensical or just plain sadistic in the Hebrew scriptures. I could just never see the "truth" from personal study as the Watchtower painted it. What was I doing wrong? They always had the pretty pictures in the Watchtower of the good Witness in one scene, hands clasped in prayer, in the other scene at a table, scratching his chin with a pensive look and WT reference books sprawled out in every direction. What were these people doing that I wasn't? What was the knack? Did you enjoy personal study?

I can't believe these posts! How can any of you dispute what is obviously disreputable, ultrafutable, scientifigant facts? Wait a minute... you are all involved in wizardry aren't you? What with your evil occultish logic-based agendas. A pox on all of you!

most of you have already scoped out the wt lesson for yesterday that blondie provided, but i'm going to add to it a bit and share the audience comments for the meeting.. i'm also going to share some direct-from-the-gb "new-light" that was revealed by the speaker in his discussion.....ready?.
so the wife and i are on vacation yesterday and visit a congregation located in western fl or east al; floribama as the natives call it.. the speaker began by telling us that the "happy god" isn't really happy because of the state of the world.
i forgot to ask him where that fact is found in the bible.
I've also heard the Billy Graham thing, but this version had him on a plane sitting next to a Witness. He noticed she was reading a Watchtower and said, "I know you have the truth, but I couldn't give up all this..."
Funny how Witness urban legends get around.
