What? the usual roasting, chopping, wailing, gnashing routine?
I like some of the newer versions of hell. I saw a Far Side comic that had the Devil leading a bunch of old ladies doing leg lifts: "999,997, 999,998, 999,999, 1,000,000! Now the left leg!" It was titled "Aerobics in Hell."
My own idea of hell would be to live in this world but everyone else would be an exact clone of me. Shivers!

Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention
by under_believer ingerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).
he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.
first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.

***Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention***
That statement sounds odd; I wouldn't want to say it out loud in front of anybody. It's reminiscent of "Galactic Admiral James T. Kirk spoke at my Star Trek Convention."
And if I had to choose, I'd pick the Trek convention. The people there are saner. -

When trying to talk to a JW what is the best method?
by omerp inif there is someone whom is a long time jw, how do you bring him back into reality or is that possible?
how do you make them reflect that it is possible that they are wrong about the bible track society?
anything you say they alway twist it around anyways with their prepared answers.

Try "dub-whispering." You know, similar to that horse-whispering thing they do to tame horses down and make them come eat a carrot out of your hand. Be sure to speak softly, use easy-to-understand words, and always but always, have a tranquilizer gun handy just in case.

do you?

believe that gods name is jehovah?
do you still use it as his name?

***Jehovah is one name that perhaps COULD be used for the trancendent.A name used for the mask of "God".***
The JWs have spoiled the name beyond all repair. It now has unpleasant connotations; using it would be like naming a little boy Adolf. -

UFO's If they Are Life From Other Planets Most Likely Benign
by frankiespeakin ini think that if creatures on other planets evolve enought to design space ships, that can move out of thier solar system for the most part are benign.
it don't take to long to see that as we evolve with selfish traits, like us humans we can destroy all life on this planet, because we arn't that concerned about other animals or plants.
and so it seems to me that if a species on any planet were to evolve and get to the point of being able to travel to other solar system and not in the process destroy themselves and the ecosystem which they live that there is a very good chance that they are benign.

....... If they come out of their spaceships wearing suits and selling Watchtowers, definitely hostile.

***In general what is it like? Would you consider your relationship normal or strangely unique?***
I was a JW when my husband (nonJW) and I married. We were both very young and stupid. My going to meetings and his staying at home was a strain. In-law holiday celebrations were a strain. My husband's relationship with my JW family was a strain. Everything was a strain. The only way the marriage survived was because I left the JWs about 5 years after we married. I'm still married to him 30-odd years later. We were very, very, very lucky. -

delilah,
***Do you honestly think these young ones want to be ripped from their families, to go and work, and live in such sterile, robotic atmospheres? Where they wouldn't see their parents for months at a time, or longer?***

First, it would be necessary to believe in a personal God. Since I don't, the question doesn't apply. However, I do use the name when discussing the JWs' arrogant, spiteful, little deity.
