  like lonewolf, i am much dismayed at the haughty nature of many women on this site.

  what is this world coming to, when women dont know their correct position in subjection to men?.

  thankfully, gods channel of communication to mankind (tm, patent pending) have always been aware of the matter and addresses the respective positions of men and women.

  Is the Organization really free from racism?

  one of the claims witnesses like to make is that they are color-blind, that their religion transcends matters of race and culture.

  by and large, i think most "apostates" accept this, though it's all too obvious that witnesses are bigots when it comes to all non-members.. but how true is the claim that witnesses escape racial stereotyping?.

  i attended an inner-city congregation with mostly black brothers and sisters.

  Cornstone, are you the same as Dodger over on the old H20? You don't have to answer if you do not want too. But your style and Dodgers is so much alike.

  I throughtly enjoy Dodgers view on life. Fresh and crisp.

  Good posting here, but that is just my opinion.

  Emotional Bankruptcy after the Tower

  emma bromon, ~founder of liberty house, a halfway house in new orleans for homeless girls with children, or who are pregnant.. this quote inspired me tonight, on an evening where i certainly needed to feel inspired by something.

  it made me question the way that i feel sometimes, that sickening out of control emotion that keeps me awake some nights.. nights like last night.. the feeling that carries over into days like today, .

  You said in you last paragraph, "I hope to get to the point where such reminders are unnecessary, but I doubt that will happen. In the meantime, let's tell each other. We're attracted to this place because we can't yet manage on our own. We need the interaction with people who have been through what we have to one extent or another. People who can laugh at the same inside jokes and make us feel less alone in our struggle. It must be what the Ugly Duckling felt like when he finally found the right pond."

  I this devilish one agrees 100%.

  To add my thoughts, there have been millions upon millions who have managed their own by simply not letting other persons control their lives. Be it religions or whatever we must be the masters of our ship, as Comp would say. The person here on this board are no different. By focusing on the positive side of life and not the negative is the best advice I can give to all. Negativism keeps one in bondage to oneself and allows other a vehicle of control.

  What we need to do, and I am not telling you anything you do not already know, is love people but love ourselves first.

  I am sure I speak of all in saying, thanks again sis for such a good
  and encouraging post.

  To Rick on H2O...

  i just posted this on h2o and though i'd put a copy here as well.... hi rick,.

  i just thought it may be appropriate for me to express my appreciation for your site and what you have accomplished over the last few years and i'm sure will continue to do.. like many others, h2o was one of the sites which helped to open my eyes to the watchtower society and beliefs and practices of jehovahs witnesses and realise that there were things seriously wrong which a lot of other people saw as well - it wasn't just limited to our local congregation.. i did participate on h2o occasionally as caliban but never really kept up-to-date with all the posters, personalities and what was going on between them.. the reason i decided to create an alternative forum, www.jehovahs-witness.com, was because at the time it appeared that the very pro-jw community was well served by witnet and the anti-jw's had h2o but that it may have been a bit too much for the 'mildly curious' jw to visit.

  my idea was to have a forum more like witnet which would gradually allow more open discussion than was allowed there without being too off putting to many as a way of introducing the issues to them more gently.. i'm sure your views and standpoints have changed over the years and mine have too.

  i have read the various posts here an i have my own story to tell i amstill a witness not as active as i used to be but stillfaithful i think the main problem that jws have is that they put c.o's m.s's elders and the like on pedestals and when you do that you set yourself up for a letdown and when that person does something you dont think is right you are letdown but one should not let this block his/her relationship with jehovah.

  P.S. I have to agree with ThinkersWife on the item of holy spirit. Allow me to add a thought.

  If you remember, back when the elder arrangment was intalled, the elders and ministerial servants were not judged based on holy spirit but it was how their fellow servants and congregation members view them as to whether they were appointed or not. It was just like it was when the people of Boaz town appointed him as an elder at the gate. It was NOT Boaz or holy spirit, it was his reverental behavior. You probably have read it a million times, but for those who haven't, it is at Ruth chapter 4.

  Learn form the mistakes of others...we can't live long

  taking the right actions. Our future is determined by the
  actions we take day after day. Our actions equal our future.
  Positive actions equal a positive future. Do the right thing.
  Do the honest thingl Work hard. Play smart. Study. Love.
  Help others. These types of actions taken on a consistent
  basis will assure a bright and promising future.

  Tomorrow is Payday for WHAT we do today.

  Don't Worry about What We Can't Control.
  (Like the direction the WBTS has been taking for the past 20 years.)

  It is important to listen carrefully to what other people say.
  However, if we need to make an evaluation, it is much more
  important to watch WHAT they do.

  This truth I believe, while we my have degrees of viewpoints, we have a comradeship. We are here to encourage and help if possible. You and are flesh and blood. I have on right to tie you to any whipping post, and lay bare your flesh. This old devilish one says, the world of mankand has see enough this type of control. I believe Unclebruce said it nicely.

  I agree with brother, Old Tom. You can tell he has been around.
