18Are there any contracts signed between the WTS and its members?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini don't remember if i signed any papers stating that i would be a member of the jehovah's witnesses when i was baptized 30 years ago.
do elders,ministerial servants,pioneers,or bethel workers ever sign a contract stating what position they will hold?
if no contracts are ever signed,how can the wts enforce disfellowshipping of any of its members?

by wings inno matter how much you want to avoid it...crying is necessary sometimes.
for me, i need help with it....too many distractions in my life.
i almost have to plan crying....so for me music aides in releasing emotion, helps me just be me for an interval of time.

Did you return to celebrating holidays?
by song19 inwith this new light, i am starting to try and figure out what to do with my life and my time... now that the world is opened up for me to finally explore.. i have been wondering if i will return to celebrating the holidays with my 'worldly' relatives.
my parents, brother, and in-laws are all witnesses.
i have pretty much rejected the holidays say for 25 years.

It's only been a week since I found this fourm. My story is a long one but some have been through the mill worst then me as I can see. It was only about 1 month ago I read Ray's first book and finished it in less than a week ( I'm on his second right now ) It took me over a year after I stopped attending meetings before I could look at anything objective about the WTS which happend to be that book. Being the only one, In the last couple day's I have told my family that I was sorry for what I had put all of them through and that I am done after 10 years of being involved with the organization and I am NEVER going back, I now can only imagine how hurt they must have been and frustrated, all the holidays etc...The tears flowed down my face as I tried to explain why. They all knew that I had stopped going over a year ago because I had made some appearances on some holidays in that time (still didn't give any gifts) and had also given some hints but never said nothing at all until now. They all said it was OK and that now we can move on. I know some of your families have been torn in two though and I feel for you. I must admit I was hesitant at first about the fourm (APOSTATE) has been etched in my brain, but we are NOT that ugly word, we are normal intelligent people who just got caught up in something bigger than ourselves. Bitter? yes we are, Hurt? of course but the past can not equal the future and we all must move on. Thank you, for my healing has begun and may yours continue. All of you. Thanks for listening
That was one of my first few posts, and Yes I did go back to celebrating holidays,only thing is for the last 8 years of my Grandmothers life she didn't see one of her most favorite Grand Children around on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day etc. My family have never even said a word about my fuck up since the day I apologized Unfortunately my Grandma never got to here it, Glad everybody else did. My family has shown true love . fuck up= Getting involved with a Christian Fundamentalist Cult that tells you your worldly family is part of Satan's world.

Believer, Agnostic or Atheist?

I don't believe in invisible beings that want to hurt or help me. Seeing with my own two eyes is my proof , God and his Angels, Satan and his Angels or any other deity for that matter.
I can't get the notion that man has invented these in order to scare people into following the rules and their own beliefs out of my head.
I don't like rules. Think about it, Invisible beings watching every single move you make. Some that want you dead and some that will kill you if you don't listen. Freakin crazy.

Brother Just got Robbed by Three Guys with Knives
by LouBelle inmy brother is 14 years old.
he has been held up by three guys brandishing knives.
he had to hand over what little valuables he had on his person.. i'm shaking my head here in absolute disbelief!!!

What are the gun laws like in South Africa ? Get one if you can and learn how to use it. Some states in the U.S. allow you to carry a hand gun. Not mine.

Question for "Awakened At Gilead"
by yourmomma indid you post any experinces about what they taught at gilead and any details on how you woke up?
i find this interesting since i would think that by the time a witness made it to gilead, they would be so indoctronated that they could teach that our savior is actually a horse named sally that was ridden by ted jaracz when he was a kid and they would buy it.
