How did you feel the first few meetings you missed?
by Mysterious infor those of you that regularly went and never stayed home sick, etc.
how did it feel when you first started staying home from meetings?
was it weird watching shows on tv you always missed, or not having to worry about rushing dinner to make it on time.

A couple from the hall I used to attend had visited me at work ( I work in a public place ) . They where some of nicest people I had met in my time involved. It was nice to see them and one of the first questions they asked is if I were OK with their heads tilted. I said just because I don't attend meetings anymore doesn't mean I'm not OK. Understandably that's what we learn as witnesses isn't it ? At first I just said I didn't feel like going anymore but still believed in god and his son. Then I felt compelled to give them something better, I have read Ray's books after all and remember him saying that people make up rumors about people who leave and I just wanted to give them a hint. I mentioned that the bible didn't say anything about counting time and how it is actually a way to judge people spiritually ( which I always believed ) and how the generation change, which took me some time to see how convenient it was that they change it just didn't jive. I stopped myself there because we all know they are programmed to run and tell and I actually in a nice way told them that. They assured me it was in confidence. I could have gone on for hours but my question is will they feel it is there obligation to run and tell about my doubts ? and if they do what can I expect ? after all I just want to fade away quietly but I want people to know the real reason. Is this possible or is being DFed inevitable ? I also told them I haven't been happier in a long time. I am not a wicked person and don't want to be viewed as one for my conversion to freedom. Free

I was visiting Brooklyn Bethel once and was shocked that in the carpentry rooms the brothers where working in what felt like 90 degree room temp. That place is a house of zombies, I mentioned that the view must be great for the fireworks on the 4th of july in NY harbor ( as a joke ) to are guide as we where on top of one of the resident buildings. The guy just pretended not to hear me, so I repeated myself like 3 times then mumbled " loosen up dude " When they eat, It's like clock work, we couldn't even digest our food before feeling like we had to move on. These people do it 3 times a day every day , I wonder if they all jam the sewers the same time. They are all people though and I feel for every one of them for I myself was under the spell of the WTS for years. I am shocked how an organized religion hijacked gods name and now ( they claim 6 million ) people still believe in the golden boys from Brooklyn.

At a crossroads, need advice
by doinmypart inover the last few years i have been trying unsucessfully to get my wife out of the org.
we've had a lot of ups & downs, arguments, and miserable times.
well, my wife has finally told me that she will respect my decision to no longer be a jw, and i can also do what i feel is best for our children in this respect.

Sign the kids up for soccer and baseball , then you'll see how they feel about things, watch them grow as individuals not repressed souls that will have constant guilt. NEVER stop in influencing your wife to get out and stay out, get one of Ray Franz's books in her hands. ( talk about the light getting brighter and brighter.) and as far as finding people to hang out with, I never knew more boring people than JW's, they couldn't find fun if it came up and bit them in the ass.

"Theocratic Warfare" - An Apostate Strategy?
by slimboyfat inwho here had ever heard of this so-called 'doctrine' of "theocratic warfare" when you were a jehovah's witness?
who has not heard of the so-called doctrine now that you are an apostate?
so why have witnesses never heard of 'doctrine', yet apostates seem to promote it as the last word on witness standards of honesty, integrity and decency?

2nd Corinthians 4:16-18 That was the scripture one of the two elders read to me in my hospital bed as I was preparing for a procedure that was needed to fix a very serious problem. If that procedure would have gone wrong (_thank god it didn't_) I would loose blood no doubt. I can't believe now what my family (all worldly) would have been feeling about my decision if something would have gone wrong. I was there, I did it, I lived it and let me tell you if they think going to stangers doors unwelcome takes courage they ain't seen nothin till this faith buster peaks its little head into the room. That scripture meant nothing at my time of decision, I was scared shitless and almost felt they where reading me my last witness rights. All I did was pray constantly from that point on and totally relied on JEHOVAH. I was one of the lucky ones as I'm sure there where ones that weren't so.

Who's to say Jesus has "approved" the FDS and "appointed them..."
by Theocrat in"...over his belongings" ???.
i think the entire system of witness beliefs hinge on this issue: is the governing body the mouthpiece that jehovah is using to lead faithful ones on earth?.
it seems jw's just assume that jesus did inspect them and did appoint them over his belongings.

How about the other 8,000 people of that slave class , why don't the dudes in Brooklyn ask their opinions ?
